A poor signing imho, especially if it's at the reported £3m.

If it was Swansea spending signing him, particularly for that amount, I'd be gutted.

A good honest pro though it seems and would fit your agenda under Makay. But if that is going to be the calibre of your signings then I'll say goodbye now.

I don't understand how you can judge him so quickly, he wasn't in favour this season at all. Last season when he played regularly he excelled in the team

No he did not, would not be happy if he signed for the Swans.

I don't care if you're not happy about him signing for Swansea, I don't particularly care what you think. When you came up who did you sign of real quality at the time? What did you think at the time of these players?

Caulker now plays for england, vorm now plays for holland, routledge just had his best ever season.

And what did you think at the time of signing them? Are you going to include Danny graham, fede bessone and kyle barley in your glowing report?

:? Bessone was signed when we were in the championship then went to leeds, then came back not good enough for the pl, graham was excellent last season 14 goals that says it all bartley is young what ive seen of him this season he looked ok.

I would like him here for a 1million.

He seemed like one of few players who gave a s**t at QPR. Reminds me of Jason Puncheon, not stand out but does a fantastic job.

Same view I have of him.

As said in my thread from this morning Nathan, several deals are very close and we can expect some new arrivals at CCS this week :ayatollah:

More than one then carl this week possibly?

Hopefully but would be very surprised as I have not heard anything of Mackie being one of them. :ayatollah:

MM is quick to do business this season. We have a massive season and we need players to gel fast over the summer.

I know you signed Michu and perhaps you think you have the right to call a good signing based on that but at the time of him signing for you, you had no idea that he'd turn out like that. Playing in a new country etc. mackies better than what we have in my opinion

Re: JAMIE MACKIE SET TO SIGN

He's a good player, will be a worthy addition to the squad and has Premier League experience. He was chosen in favour of some globally recognised players this year who failed to do the job because of his work commitment. Still dont think he's going to be a first team player and he'll be used to grind out results at the end.

The £3m is over the top to be fair. He's worth £1.5-2m to be fair but the £3m is just reported figure so keep calm and wait until what becomes official.

People may not of heard of Michu in this country but he was the top goal scoring mid-fielder in spain last season.

Not quite sure what Michu has to do with it but my opinion on Mackie is based on the fact that he has done pretty much the square root of f**k all in the Premier League over the last two seasons, one goal against us aside.

If you're saying he's better than what you've got, then you're in more trouble than even I thought.

Re: JAMIE MACKIE SET TO SIGN

Hate to say it but I agree with the Jacks on this thread.

Happy to be proved wrong though.

Re: JAMIE MACKIE SET TO SIGN

Sun May 26, 2013 9:08 pm

Please dont entertain the Jacks. They're a peculiar breed. They think because they signed Michu for £2m and it worked out good they're suddenly the cradle of business activity and financial management. Whilst I commend them on that particular signing they haven't got a clue what goes on, only Malky and Laudrup do. They know what they want for their team and they know how to get it done. Both won things this year so they know what it takes to fit the puzzle together, its just getting the right pieces to slot into place.

I have faith in Malky and would rather Mackie, a work horse than a prima donna in the Bothroyd mould. People said Norwich wouldn't cope yet Snodgrass and co. made the move up very easily and they've done well. I think also we have to remember Mackie was part of an overall terrible QPR side last year so we cant take anything much from that. He could join the camp here and feel right at home and that could boost his morale and get him right up for the challenge.

The assumptions from the Jacks are astonishing. You'd think they'd be a bit more intelligent and have got a bit wiser after their recent exploits of promotion and winning cups but they've clearly not. Some will never learn.

I know that, he's scored 16 goals in Spain last season, But scoring goals in one country doesn't equal the same success in another. You just have to look at players like Forlan at man utd, shevchenko at Chelsea Etc etc. it's always a gamble buying from overseas as there's alot of factors to be considered. It's always a risk

Just for clarity, this is not a slight on Nathan Casual as he is passing on what he has heard or been told and it is apparent that he was not he only person told about Mackie signing.

I am just saying that the people I know say that no deal on the cards.

Glad it doesnt look like happening. Average tbh....if this is our level for a striker signing then we are fucked
