I think the concept is a very good one. But most posts I've seen on here and CCMB seem more interested in the booze Than the blue.

I hope it goes well, just have my doubts. like I said. Make it more fan friendly and you will get a lot more support.

The problem with your doubts, is that they stem from one poster mentioning taking 'tinnies' & a hypothetical banner containing a censored swear word.

More than one poster & the fact that the email reads about going to the Neville to continue drinking.

Well you only mentioned the word *tinnies* in inverted comas, this word seemed to really grate on you.
Nothing wrong with drinking at a celebration, it happened down the bay, did you have a tipple?

No I didn't.

If you're comparing the event to the bay, you've got big problems

So if the event down the bay was happening next week, you'd have reservations about going because of the drinking liscense?

Are you seriously comparing a professional event, run in conjunction with Cardiff City Council & the police, to the "lets all go to the castle, take a few pics and get pissed" event on Sunday?

Who has said 'lets all get pissed' ...Again you are misrepresenting the event and putting potential attendees off going. Are you jealous of this event superseding your meeting?

Thats about the jest of it I would say.

For someone who hates the red so much, all he has done for days is pour scorn on this event.

Strange man.

That's the impression I get from the email.

I hope it does have an effect, I really do. I'm merely giving you my opinion on how to get the masses to attend as that's what you need to actually get anywhere.

I'm not mis-representing anything. You're the one saying 1,000 would stop going if you didn't have alcohol... I'd look at the other posters etc, not me.

What is modern football?

You can't be moaning about the price of it now compared to 1983 because your all about 12. Prices rise for everything.

I'm going to make a banner and stand outside asda saying against modern bread.

Wear blue or your not allowed to stand by me.

I think the get together is a good idea and will hopefully be a success. I do however find it totally ironic that you have a banner "against modern football" whilst going to a celebration of reaching the epitomy of "modern football"

How can a great idea have so many appalling decisions made in its name?

We either want to get fans and the public onside or we just want to gorge our own egos and put across that ALL football fans are still heavy drinking and foul mouthed.

These things don't worry me but I am not the type of fan that you are trying to reach out to. Why even alienate ONE fan that could be offended when you could easily do it without the swear word.

It's as if we want and excuse for it to fail.

'Keep Cardiff Blue' would've been fine. There's no point in it though, the only people who are going to see it are families/tourists who most likely don't even like football.

The banner says it all about how his will end up !
All it will take is someone to walk past in red and the abuse will start like last time !

I don't get this castle thing ?
Why not organise a game on jubilee park and get everybody there instead right outside the stadium ?
Give people something to watch rather than just sitting on a piece of grass ?
Or is the landlord of the Neville (i think thats the pub your going go)one of the organisers

Purely looking at the banner in my opinion its going to keep fans away I thought this was going to be a good family day for city fans

Is it a gathering or a protest? My opinion, no need for the banner.

Karlmpayne, my dear sir
Someone needs to show Tan that badge and explain how the dragon is burning every fucker that tries to get to the bluebird, he might go for that. Everytime I see that badge id love it on some city clobber

What the day should be !

At jubilee park opposite the stadium
Free entry
Everyone wearing blue.
Make it a charity event whatever raised goes to them .
Two local teams playing a friendly maybe the 2 message boards against each other or the supporters club v trust .
A couple of kids games going on for the younger fans , there's plenty of teams who will turn up for the day .
Bouncy castles and soft play for toddlers so all the family can go .
Billy the badge selling some merchandise .
Ask a burger bar to turn up to supply refreshments .
Ask the well known cardiff pro blue supporters ( Nathan Blake ) to turn up and meet and greet supporters.
Invite tan and or other club officials so they can see the fans feelings for themselves .
Invite the local press and have a spokesman explaining what the day is all bout in the correct manner .

Don't !!!

Bring offensive banners
Swear or abuse fans who don't agree with you
Get blind drunk making family's nervous
Leave behind a mess

Easy and very cheap to organise , I'm sure you would have loads more there than just sitting outside the castle especially on a bank holiday weekend
