What's is got to do with Cardiff? It's my opinion that the Europa league is a joke. I have no interest in it, nor do I aspire for Cardiff to play in it. It's nothing to do with the fact that the jacks are in it, I've said it long before they made it.
So small club syndrome it ain't.

Well you are a joke of a supporter then. What aspirations do you hold for our club? It seems you don't like any of the cups and for you say you wouldn't want Cardiff City to potentially play the likes of Ajax, Benfica, Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Marseille in a competitive fixture is astounding.

The premier league is not the be all end all of supporting a football club. Some need to remember that.

Ill pipe down when you don't enter a debate with abuse. It's an opinion that I've explained earlier. The joke part of it is what you've just highlighted. Teams who fail in the champs league then get another chance to play on, padded out with lesser teams who get in through lower league positions and even a 'fair play' route. It's like a plate competition vs the main trophy. Each to their own but I have little interest in it.

Already had this with NJ and said it may feel different if you're in it. f**k me some just can't believe others think differently about things and that's the embarrassing bit. It's like Groundhog Day now, other posters jumping in without reading what's already been posted and that a line had been drawn under it.

Nothing to do with you jacks either. I don't think I've ever watched an Europa league game all the way through. Even the Chelsea final last week I watched the last 20 mins. Thats 20 mins in total for the whole competition. It just doesn't interest me, yet I can understand others are thrilled by it. Some love the FA cup, others totally disinterested in it. Some love international football, others totally disinterested.

The breaking news seems to be that sometimes football fans don't agree on everything

My aspirations for my club is to become a giant within the game, champions league winners medals and what not. But be realistic, we are never going to break through that. We can get to the Europa league. I trust if we made it to the Europa league you wouldn't attend the matches? I get the feeling you are slating it because the Jacks are there.

In the next 25 years we will qualify for the competition at least once and I for one can't wait for it.

So is the World Cup a shit competition as the likes of North Korea, New Zealand, Honduras, Algeria etc are in it?

Is the FA Cup a joke competition with only 15% of the entrants being top flight clubs?

Is the Premier league a joke competition because only a handful compete in the champions league?

Whether you like the competition or not matters little, people are bemused as you are calling it a "joke", when it clearly isn't. It exudes jealousy and makes us look small.

Maybe. Fact is I've thought it since the cup was introduced, but hey people can interpret it in anyway they wish. Loads of rounds then the fact the champs league failures come in later on seems farcical to me and undermines its credibility. Can't believe how upset everyone is getting over one opinion. It's not like I'm making an official statement on behalf of Cardiff City and many Cardiff fans disagree with me. It's just a debate isn't it?

As for this new drama queen poster delembox, if he's a Cardiff fan then I'm an optimist :laughing6:

You think Braintree town are one of the best clubs in Britain? Yu think Honduras are one of the best international sides in the world?

What the hell are you cracking on about? If Atletico Madrid came up against Braintree town there would be a massacre yet you aren't calling the FA Cup a joke. If Wales came up against New Zealand we would also win yet the World Cup isn't a joke. If Real Madrid came up against Wigan it would be a massacre, yet the premier league isn't a joke.

Totally missed the point, I hope on purpose. Your examples are meaningless - how does Real Madrid v Wigan reflect on the PL? How would braintree v A Madrid happen in the FA cup? If you have to make up nonsense to back up your argument then you're clearing struggling. And I'm off my trolley?!

Last time I checked, all the PL teams enter the FA cup. They are the best teams, not the conference sides you fool. And last time I checked, teams who get knocked out don't get a second chance by dropping into some lesser cup. Yes the World Cup includes its minnows at times as it brings the 5 continents together. But it also includes the very best sides in the world. Same applies to the Champs League. But this was never my underlying point. It's not necessarily who you're playing (although the EL is full of second/third rate teams), it's how you come about playing them.

Let me slow it down for you.

Lets say as well as the World Cup there is another trophy called the earth league. The latter is made up of teams not good enough to qualify for the World Cup, including say Wales, Scotland, and Thailand.

Now Wales are going along nicely in the earth cup until teams who fail to qualify from the World Cup group stage suddenly drop into the earth cup, lets say including England and holland. Wales get put out by England who then go on to beat holland in the earth cup final.

I would find that farcical, akin to the Europa league IMO. Others wouldn't which I can accept. Seems many including you have a problem and are getting very upset. I'm bored of explaining the same thing now and written this novel in a final attempt to offer my views. I don't like the Europa league and have no interest in it. I think it's a minor trophy designed to soften the blow for champs league failures. Do you think I'm suddenly going to change my mind because people tell me they love it? I've even said perhaps if you're club is in it then it may feel differently, but then I never got too excited about European games for Cardiff in the past so who knows.

I'm comfortable with my stance and that others differ. As I've said, football fans are allowed to disagree. Some don't like international football, others love it. Some have no interest in the cups, others love the FA cup. It's about opinions and I don't think anyone is going to get hurt by them?

I can live with it and suggest we all just agree to disagree rather than turn this into a 20 pager in classic Roath-esque fashion ;)

Slow down cowboy, you are moving the goalposts. The term used was "joke", whether you like the cup or not is irrelevant and not what is being discussed, that part is up to you. It's your use of referencing it as a joke cup which is the part flabbergasting many.

Your opinion was clearly based on the quality of opposition. It's nonsense. You like the FA cup with the likes of Braintree in yet say the Europa is a joke with the likes of Chelsea in it. Did Cardiff just win a joke league with no top flight teams in it too then?

The premier league next year will have two teams in it from the championship who werent good enough to win the league. Most of the clubs there aren't even good enough to qualify for Europa league let alone champions league... Is that a joke league?

This is football. There are many cups and trophies to win and many of them have different means of qualification. You seem to think anything outside of the top 4 is a "joke" which is highly ridiculous considering you support Cardiff.

European football IS a privilege, hence why football teams (including Cardiff) will do their utmost to secure it. Your life as a fun must be as dull as dishwater if your whole footballi philosophy now surrounds finishing outside the top 6 not winning any cups but staying out of the bottom 3.... Joy and ambition eh?

Nothing wrong with young players going out on loan for a couple of months to lower league clubs who have injury crisis' but prem clubs have enough money so if you want a player then buy them rather than abuse the system.
