swansealad69 wrote:Thing is we were better suited to prem football with the way play and hold on to the ball.
And had players in allen williams dyer and sinclair who were prem clas and stood out in the champ and along with taylor.
As for crowds!cardiff have been atop 6 side for a long time in the xhamp and puahing for the prem.
Throw in a fa cup final and league cup final, and you will have bigger crowds.
We only spent 2 seasons in the champ and had no finals exept the playoffs.
So yes you would have had bigger crowds.
But if u look at when u went in to the champ and your crowds were only 12to 13 k it took u 10 years to get the 20 odd k mark .
We were getting 15 k in our 2 seasons in the champ wile u had 13 in yours

But south of Hadrians wall , I would say hopefully as of next season, it will be us and the Jacks.
A number of reasons, just the right distance apart with a slight overlap in some areas, a bit like Leeds and Man U in their heyday.
In my opinion clubs that are to close together lose a bit of that "edge" needed to keep the tension there, to own up, I do have the odd Jack acquaintance, but I wouldn't want to work and socialise with too many too often, nice to keep a bit of edge to it.
Most other famous derbies, liverpool-Everton, Spurs- Arsenal, Man U- City, and quite a few others no longer have that edginess which made it so tense, it's all a bit sterile now, and I'm not advocating violence, but most fans will know where I'm coming from.
Anyway, back to the original point I was trying to make, next year's derby will catch the attention worldwide and it will be rightly built up into a great rivalry and derby, and to think it will be in the Premiership is amazing.![]()

It would kick off if it was any other derby. You call the Manchester clubs plastic, like many have said there is a huge rivalry between the fans in that city and it was carnage at Wembley by all accounts. We both used to play in front of 5k fans regularly now we are in front of 20k, whose the plastic clubs??
We are in the top ten derbies but I am sorry not the top three. Some of you have an inflated perception of the South Wales derby.
