Rudy wins his percentage of headers and flick ons, but what's frustrating is he needs someone to feed off him.
More often than not, his aerial strength is completely wasted as there's no bugger within 10 yards of him.

He's not suited to play the lone striker role.
Far better coming on in the 2nd half to give the defenders a physical presence to worry about.

f**k me reading this thread you would think Rudy was Ole Gunner Solksjaer with the number of games he has changed for "Supposedly" changed for us. :?

Hope he doesnt start, we are more inclined to hoof it up to him when he or Helguson start which is a useless tactic as Gestede cannot control the ball and we cannot build from him.

Hes ok i suppose if chasing a game and we want to hit diagnols into the box to cause a bit of panic but hes not a starter IMO.

As far as insults and Rudy goes I am probably not the best person to answer that one

I will say I think he has improved this season and I have been one of his biggest critics.

Although I still dont think he is a starter, or a decent championship player.

scored a cracker against Millwall, real quality goal, and has netted a couple or so since.

We all know what we are going to get with him. Tries hard, bit awkward like a lot of tall blokes, causes a nuisance at the end of games, scores the odd goal or so - whilst he wears our shirt I will support him, though by me in the Ninian he now engenders amusement and surprise rather than despair.

I cannot believe people are so small minded as to call Rudy a donkey!!! Anybody with half a brain knows he is more like a newly born deer crossing a frozen duck pond when hes on the pitch.(but he turns more like a battleship)

(only joking I couldn't resist it)

Sorry for not sitting on the forum on Saturday nights - out celebrating and having a drink.

Credit where it's due - he did VERY well today. First time I was impressed by Rudy. Before today, he's been utter dross at times - lets hope that we see this Gestede more often when he features. :ayatollah:

Bit stupid singling Chuckle out for this. Most on the forum have slated Rudy. Only I had the sense to realise hes the next Henry.

He obviously took his goals very well but his all round play was very good also.
He made a number of good runs that sadly weren't found. Mason, HH and Rudy have all been given a run out with out Campbell and Rudy took his chance more than other.

" Rudy's got a really good games-to-goals ratio and he's someone I've got a lot of trust in”

Malky Mackay Cardiff City manager

I think he's a better impact player! Defence struggle with his aerial threat with tired legs! :ayatollah: :malky:

Re: Rudy to start tomorrow??

Interestingly Malky had analysed that the Forest defence were decent on the ground but susceptible in the air - which showed as we scored with 3 headers (though should have had more!).

Malky's team selection is geared to beating the opposition on the day, as well as playing to the relative strengths of his own players - I wonder what he and his team have analysed in Charlton's play?
