In most cases this dividend, however justified, amounts to not just a return on investment but a profit of more than 4 times the original investment. Is this just the start of the owners taking their share by riding the gravy train that PL revenues bring.
Whatever the reasons it will be interesting to see the reaction should things go wrong for the club in the future. I'm not saying it will but history says with the exception of only a few clubs few enjoy longterm stays in the PL.

It is relevant to us how much Swansea made over a six month period, our owner or primary shareholder (and debt holder) have staked a lot in reaching the promised land. The jacks have ran their small club very well and the profit they made without transfers show it will take a some time to pay off our existing debts even if we stay in their for a while.

It does state how much was made up from player sales, and there was £5.6 million profit after player sales which the dividend will have come from.
To be honest, I don't care about £1 million when the owners have made the club over £40 million in the last couple of years.

So in 6 months £20m+ in player sales has resulted in a profit of £5.6m which means without those sales a £14m loss. The interesting term was interim dividend which normally means declared before an AGM. Hmmm
Anyway after all these years of success do you think it is morally correct that the owners of the club share £2m whilst the local council has had to write off £2.37m. Nothing to do with the debts of the previous owners this is the money the council advanced, in the form of a mortgage, to the stadium to fit out the hospitality areas. This mortgage, a loan, was held on the council annual accounts as debt, a debt that not a single penny was received in repayment and was written off when it come under the scrutiny of the Audit Office.
Swansea City have a direct relationship with the company, as a managing partner, and therefore hold a direct responsibility for the default on this loan. Is it right that directors of SCFC benefit by £2m when the public purse has to right off £2.37m because it was obvious that the stadium management company, and by association SCFC, refused to repay any money.

No, the operating profit was £5.6 million with £15 million profit from player sales. This operating profit of £5.6 million is before the cup final cash.
We've benefited £58 million to the local economy last season, and have no debt to the council. The council is very much on the side of anything beneficial to Swansea City, such as granting the planning permission for any possibly stadium expansion.
