Surely it's not Jon's fault that he's 18? How can he attend games before he was even born?!

Spot on...However when younger fans dismiss the value of someone being a longtime fan, it shows a lack of respect, and that is their fault.

I'm not dismissing the value of someone being a longtime fan, it just annoys me when longtime fans always go on about how long they've supported City as if it makes them better than other fans.

Okay, you are right, they should not feel "better" but surely you understand that with age comes this "right of passage thing?" I am certain when you are 47 you will feel a certain amount of ownership that a 16 cannot.

Of course a longtime fan has had more experience.

But I'm 18, I've been a loyal City supporter for 8 years and I love Cardiff City just as much as someone who's been a loyal supporter for 50 years. Just because someone's been a fan for longer than me it doesn't mean their opinion is more valid than mine, because that's the impression I get from some of our fans. Obviously there's a difference when it comes to new fans but it doesn't take years to 'qualify' to be a proper fan.

Are Stoke successful ? Their fans are having a right go at Pulis, some want him out !!

I am only concerned that once the euphoria dies down and hopefully survive the first season, we realised what we sold for being the 15th team in a division that only cares about the top four.

Our debts will be even higher because a lot of fans will demand big names complete with big transfers fee and even bigger salaries. The extra thousand shirts we have shifted in Asia won't matter a jot.

What do you want from the premier league, a photo of van Persie or Rooney playing at the CCS ? An autograph ? The idea was to pay off the debt, but we will need to throw the dosh at players and agents.

So we changed our historic colours and emblem for snapshots of united players.

The alternative is to stay in the championship and go bust.

Do you remember a couple of seasons ago?

What do I want from the premier league? Being there is a nice start.

If you think there is something glorious about lower league football and small crowds then find a club to satisfy your needs.

Is it a Welsh thing that when our club is top of the league and on the verge of going up a few still have to find fault.

I'm all for your opinion but if you don't want part of it then you can easily walk away.

You are missing my argument. Its nothing to do with the "good ole days" the football was to a degree inconsequential.

If we get there what do you expect to see, hear, smell, experience that differs from today. We go from a 90% home points ratio to 20%. The fun as I imagined will be staying in there. Are we as fans ready to put the work in from our end ? We as a club (fans) are far better as the underdog, it suits our chip on the shoulder, but it won't be a cauldron of noise and passion (the reason I always compare us to Stoke) it should be because we are split.

Truthfully to me Cardiff City is a hobby and not a way of life, something I do about 22 times a year. I am not that passionate either way, slightly miffed post Brighton because it was handled some clumsily.

I think Tan is wrong, but any boss who doesn't receive feedback will never improve his business, not sure what significant feedback he receives or if the underlings submit unfavourable news. Looking at the happy birthday video, lots of sycophants there though.

Would you be happy with a slight name change Cardiff Dragons ?

Only asking because it was due to the feedback the club received that the hurriedly scripted denial was published, all a bit like last years one, that ultimately proved to be untrue.

Its a football match that we go to. The idea is to win! Win at all cost sometimes.

If you don't want to be in the prem. You are saying you don't mind city losing some games. And I personally detest any city loss. We support city for us to see success and celebrate those times. We don't support city to go away days with mates, that's just an added extra. But people seem to think going to the game with there mates is more important.

Bring on promotion and winning the league. Will be best day in my supporting life.

Your club doesn't need to be successful to enjoy going out to the football.

Football to me is about going out with my mates and having a laugh regardless of how good my team is... not about seeing Wayne Rooney walk around a football pitch.

I couldn't care less about the rep of player walking round the pitch, it could be Wayne Rooney it could be a trialist. Football is about winning. That's why it's organised, professional scores are kept and we look at league tables.

Surely as fans you support the club not an experience. And what's best for the club is winning. The atmosphere won't turn overnight at home. But it will grow as attendances grow and sustain at that level and fans turn from guys who just turned up because Cardiff had relative championship success and or are a prem side, to loving the club and getting behind the club. It could take 5-10 years to happen but it can happen.

I have agreed with what you have said till this....."just because someone's been a fan longer than me it doesn't mean their opinion is more valid than mine". The word "valid" here is the problem. All opinions are just that, opinion, so no one opinion can be all together "more right". However an opinion can be more valid.

I would value your opinion more than an 11 year old. Maturity is something nothing but time can bring.

I do think the tenure of a fan makes a difference in that regard.

In other cases it does not, I would more than likely consider your opinion more valid than mine when it comes to the game, as you have grown up loving it, and Cardiff. This is true although I am much, much older than you. The reason is that you have been a fan longer. ;)
