EVEN A WALSALL FAN LAST WEEK SAW MY BADGE AND SAID :( ---FUCK ME MATE I THOUGHT YOU PLAYED IN RED AND WERE CALLED THE REDBIRDS---WANKER--- BUT HE IS RIGHT---WE SADLY ARE A JOKE WITH FOOTBALL FANS IN THE MIDLANDS :(

So show the world that you've got a backbone and do something about it. It's not too late as some have suggested. You've still got the name Cardiff city haven't you? If you continue down the road of apathy even that could disappear. Tan has backed down in the past when confronted, so why wouldn't he again? Remember this.....?

Either you start fighting back or you can kiss your club goodbye forever.

I literally couldn't agree with and want to emphasise that last point more.

I'm not having a go here, but what have you personally done to stop the rebrand? Genuine question.

Not a lot i can do personally but will join in any protest. What i have done though is given my season ticket away as i can't stand going anymore.

Re: Has our club become an embarrassment?

This debate is all about baselines.

If you were in the dark old days, hooligan or not there was a passion, pride in the team. I remember in the Eddie May days, so not that long ago the grandstand was rocking, nothing to do with the 80's casual scene, oldies bouncing on their wooden seats screaming barmy army.. Then we are embarrassment a Welsh Milton Keynes

If you have come after CCS opened and don't see why fans are moaning, it's clean, safe and sterile. You probably accept money is life and Tan is supplying enough loans to keep the premier cash tills sorry dream alive. Then we are an evolved club with an eye to the future.

These are all ways i've read OUR OWN fans describe our club on here tonight. Not fans of Swansea, Bristol City or Leeds. Our own fans. Our own "customers", even.

I'd say the only thing that's stopping me and many others from becoming totally ashamed of what our club has become is the fight, spirit and effort Malky and his players are putting in this season. Despite our blip lately, that cannot be questioned in my opinion. They've done us proud.

But with the colour change, the new badge, the awful atmosphere at home games, the countless Malaysian flags around the CCS, and worst of all the divide it's caused between our own supporters...

has our club become an embarrassment?

The taunts that come from the away fans every game without fail, and the more and more people that have supported this club, for a long time in some cases, that are walking away despite almost-certain Premier League football next season, suggests that we have become exactly that.

Yes we are a laughing stock and I am no longer proud to be a city fan . Joke club

Re: Has our club become an embarrassment?

Thu Mar 14, 2013 7:26 pm

Every set of fans that have come to our ground this season has taken the piss. We don't half make it easy for them especially on the screen behind them putting up a great big Malaysia in a bright red background. Bristol City loved that.
And the other night they put that shit beer mat badge on there :o Leicester Fans didn't need prompting.

Everyone when i am at work is taking the piss and TBF i agree with the piss take as we are ripe for it. Yes our once proud Club has turned into an embarrassment and that hurts. Its a bit like Steven Seagal turning into a peace loving Hippie. it just ain't right.

the constent chants/piss takes from away fans tells its own story, of course where a laughing stock. And what do we chant in return? Nothing, why? Because its true and we all know it. :(

A lot on here demand swapping the grange and Canton, we all know it will never happen. What witty retort can we give to the old classic "you sold your soul" or "Leicester will always be blue"................. Silence.

Has Tan been to a Jack derby ? Wait until they beam the anti Malaysian abuse live to the homeland. Its bound to be a lunchtime KO, just in time for the evening local time.....

What the effing hell is that may be on the mild side.........

Dangerous game for him, it may backfire.

It was never "ours", ever. Some of us here have short memories, or just choose to.

Move with the times - see many other clubs rebrand ??

Re: Has our club become an embarrassment?

It's is f*cking embarrassing. I've been following football for 23 years and never known a club to rebrand like this. I'm not embarrassed by what other fans say/think, just ashamed of some of our own supporters enjoying it.

Spot on.

Can you imagine if the Liverpool owners suddenly decided to do away with Liverpools liver bird, do away with their red and have a club decorated in the colours of the USA with their kits red white and blue stars on with a Big Mac replacing the liver bird with U.S.A spralled on the front.

This is essentially what has happened here but the way it has been met by the fans is startlingly different. Liverpool fans would chase them back to the U.S.A quicker than they could fly where as we pretty much begged for it as we want to be promoted.

It's pathetic. It's a shell of a club these days, just a foreigners experiment that represents nothing and nobody apart from greed, stupidity, no pride and weak morals.
