We lacked creativity today and that is not Rudy's fault one bit. He is also a young striker for the type of striker he is. Most play their best around 27 years of age so we must be patient with young Rudolphe. The simple fact is he still has learning to do and he is not the finished article. He will tell you that himself. His position requires a lot of footballing intelligence to read the game and he hasn't got it all yet I agree but he is willing to learn. With better midfielders giving him more opportunities he would score for fun and Malky knows this. I trust the judgement of Malky, our manager, who has taken us to the top of the Championship with a comfortable margin even with plenty of injuries. Malky knows what he is doing and he knows as well as myself that Rudy will one day become a 20 goal striker in the Premiership. It will just take time but please stop slating Rudolphe and Malcolm as they are both only part way through their journey of greatness. One day there will be a statue of both of them outside the CCS and they will be known as greats.

lets face it

We have 2 forwards and no striker - i'm not picking onn Rudy or Helgasson - but they both are foils for a striker which we dont have.
a 10 to 15 goal guy would make a major difference

there were a couple of cross box crosses today that a striker could have got his toes to.

we dont creat many chances which is dissapointing to me but not the end of the world - because the chances we do create are well worked but need a finisher

Get off rudys back he had a bad game because he had no service , can any of you tell me of a ball into him he didnt win that a different striker would have ? NO exactly hes a talent which needs experiance why do you all think we should have finished articles who are worth millions we are a championship club with a lot of very good young players who will get better with every game they play .
It doesnt matter who played up front today our overall play and service into them was shite and rudys display proved that . if it was heidur you would all be saying hes too old or past it , rudy had no service at all ipswich snuffed that route out thats why it was changed and mason replaced him ! fact .
We were shite but still extended our lead over 3rd BE HAPPY FOR FUCKS SAKE !!!!!1

He's just not good enough at this level yet and wouldn't, be good enough for the premiership we need a goalscorer

I fully agree with this. I thought Marshall's distribution was worse than Tony Warner's when he was with us (which was dreadful) Route One and quite often to the wrong side. I thought Rudy won a lot of headers which other strikers wouldn't have. They weren't necessarily knocked on to one of our players but he did his best considering the balls played 'into him'. I also think Noone and Smith both looked good today and its a shame that one of them can't play on the left. In my opinion, what was missing today was a decent replacement for Aron Gunnarsson as he was not doing the job intended for him. I probably would have brought Mason on for Bellamy based on his performance up until that point, although he was one of our better players in the second half. All in all a poor and sloppy performance by most and based on other results a point (undeservedly) gained. To be fair, we would have lost this under Dave Jones.

A sticky slagging off our own player? PATHETIC

Re: Sorry to say yet again, ruudy is just not good

One player alone did not cause us to lose 2 points (if that's how you look at it). A poor performance all round. If I was to blame one person, there are a few I would blame before Rudy. Why is this thread a sticky? Are we not supposed to be getting behind the players and seeing the positives from today?

Rudy absolutely shocking again. He has had a fair time under Malky to develope but its just not gonna happen in my opinion. It's time to invest in a striker ready for Premiership!

Well we started him against Millwall and he scored after 10 minutes. Despite saying that, he was poor yesterday. He's good in he air but he is awful with his feet. For the time being, I wouldn't mind seeing him and Mason starting together but when Maynard returns, I think him and Mason should start together

Re: Sorry to say yet again, ruudy is just not good

Sun Jan 13, 2013 10:41 am

Oh please, enough of the "poor service" already.

The occasions he did have the ball at his feet he looked like a giraffe not a footballer.

He cannot shield the ball or link the ball there was one occasion he brought the ball down and by the time he decided what he was going to do the defender had taken it off him and was on the attack.

He cannot pass as proved furthermore yday when in centre circle we had chance of a counter attack, conway on the overlap just to.the side of him, just needed to slip him in but put the ball over by the touchline ffs.

And as for that one jump to head the ball facing away from the direction of the ball was like something youd see on a parks game. Totally embarrasing.

Its like playing with 10 men it really is.

The man is a complete joke . Worst still was when the crowd told him to jump and the ball hit on the back of the head .

How on earth is this joke of a striker in our starting line up ?

We are still treating ourselves as a feeder club, like the old days, developing a kid and selling him on to tick over financially.

If Rudy makes it, it will not be for at least another 5 years this also applies to Joe Mason ,although Joe will get there quicker than Rudy. We are trying to make it to the promised land, we have pawned any dignity in this pursuit. So as a fan with an emotional interest in the club I find it abhorrent that these two youngsters can not even muster the same effort and desire than a pair of 35 & 33 years olds.

We are hinging our whole season on two creaking vessels. I hope Malky is giving HH a full mid season break and there is nothing more serious than the season was catching up with him.

Malky needs to get his arse into gear, Tan needs to get the cheque book out and get a top level championship player to start, forget about next season.

I will be surprised if we see Rudy again. He was simple shocking and if ever you want proof that he is not championship standard then yesterday was it.

His strongest asset being his height was none existant. As some say he won nothing in the air yesterday. However his biggest let down was his defensive play. Bellamy preach that we are a team that defends up front. Our tailsman has shown that by chasing practically every ball in our opponents ball. Rudys idea was to just watch their defence set up aa attack. You could hear the crowd baying him on to close them down but all he did was watch then made a start once the ball was gone.

The Frenchman came over as if did not have a clue what to do and I for one will be disappointed if he starts next week.

The best part of his game yesterday was the comedy moment when the ball was hoofed up to him and he jumped with his back to the ball while running forward naturally mistimed it but the ball then hit him in the back of the head a few yards later :D

I wonder how many full games he has played since youth level ? If he has been pitched in above his ability I doubt he has played many games despite the daily training his match craft is non existent. Not sure what contact extension Malky gave him but a season at Bristol Rovers, Newport, Forest Green may benefit him and us. His confidence will totally go when the collective groan howls around the stadium when his name is announced.

I've said it all along, he's dreadful. Yesterday was the proof. He's dreadful and should not be anywhere near a first team challenging for promotion to the premiership.

There we go then. Good for you.

I'm still allowed that opinion & still allowed to air my view.

Although it appears Malky didn't think he was good enough either, or he wouldn't have hauled him off at half time.

Funny that you always pick on my posts and opinions, plenty here saying the same as me, yet you don't question them?

Thought you were ignoring me anyway?

He soon realised his mistake and showed by taking him off. He's not good enough, I'm entitled to hold that opinion, no matter how many times you try telling me how good he is on the training ground.

I suggest you try and debate maturely, without resorting to name calling.
