It would be interesting to know how many red kits we have actually sold this season? As this would be more of a barometer to how people feel about the changes.
If the vast majority of people were against the rebrand then this was the time it would have been evident. As i understand this has not happened and the new red kit continues to sell out.
Every time the club sell any new red merchandise it is the equivalent of a letter of approval for the rebrand is it not?

Re: DRAFT LETTER TO CLUB RE: Bluebird

Wed Jan 09, 2013 7:47 am

What' peoples problems?
It's a draft letter and there's nothing unambiguous about it! Like Chuckles says if you want to send it off as is, then do so, If you want to amend it then do so. If you don't want to send one then don't!
I can't understand why people are having a go over this, all the letter is doing is asking that before we decide to fork out more money can we have some clarification on what kind of product we're going to get.

For me if the Bluebird goes then that's the straw that broke the camels back and i wont renew!
Is it so much to ask with all the changes that we have had forced on us that we keep the Bluebird?

Re: DRAFT LETTER TO CLUB RE: Bluebird

Wed Jan 09, 2013 8:00 am

Yea I am in defo and I think we MUST do something to keep the bluebird.

I bought my season tickets last year and then Tan re branded us he knows what he is doing I want a statement explaining to us the clubs plans on weather the bluebird is staying or going its quite simple.

The club cant keep disrespecting us fans the way they did last year it was disgusting what they did to us.

I will send my own letter in to the club and I would suggest if you care about are club you do the same.

It may work out if we get promotion he changes the badge because everyone will be ecstatic and say who cares we in the prem.Or if we stay down and he does it people would take there angry out on Tan big time.

IMAGIN getting to the prem with no bluebird he cant be allowed to do it simple as that.

The other ting is the badge may be changing again next year so what the f**k is Tan doing why cant he just leave it all alone I do not understand what his gain is from it all and I dont understand what the fans or the club has gained from any of it.Can anyone tell me what anybody has gained from the rebrand or any other proposed changes to are identity.

I dont think its benefited anybody at all.

I sent this E mail to the Club to forward on to Tan and TG: I was pissed :D

Dear Mr Tan

I have supported Cardiff City for over 30 years, have travelled extensively across Britain and Europe watching the Club.

Cardiff City FC is in my heart and soul. My passion has been passed on to my children

Firstly, I would like to thank you for the last few season. Without your input I have no doubt there would be no Cardiff City.

You have swept through the Club like a breath of fresh air. City have changed beyond recognition and look primed for
premiership football with a professional Admin staff, professional training staff, a superb squad, ever growing and in my
opinion the greatest Manager this Club has ever had. I have every confidence that next season we WILL cement our place
in the Premiership and become a fixture and fitting in that division.

For all this I thank you, having seen City so close to going out of business on numerous occasions its difficult to describe
how it feels to be a 'big club' again - because thats certainly what we have become, under your stewardship.

The rebrand I was not happy about however. Whatever the reasoning behind it, I do accept, If for instance you feel a great
affinity to the colour red? then so be it. At the end of the day, without Vincent Tan, there would be no Club. So the red
shirts…. I may not like, I'm old school CCFC. But I'm also a realist. We are getting full houses and the fans are buying the
shirts so its worked. Im in a minority. Its perhaps ME that needs to move on!

But I do link Cardiff City with the Bluebird. The new Club badge I do not like at all, I feel it was rushed through and looks
terrible.

I am Welsh, of course I love the Red Dragon, it symbolises my country, I love my country. But for Cardiff City it has always
been the Bluebird that has taken precedence. I hate the way it now lies insignificant at the bottom of the badge, it is almost
an afterthought.

I have now heard a rumour that the Bluebird is to disappear from the badge altogether next season. This upsets me greatly. PLEASE Mr Tan, respect
my history, respect Cardiff Citys history. The Bluebirds is who we are, whether we play in red or not, we ARE the Bluebirds.
I support you for what you've done for the Club, you have worked miracles for us. But I'm hoping the Bluebird becomes more
prominent again on the badge next season, if it disappears, then so will my support. I write this with a heavy heart, because I
love Cardiff City FC, love watching them, love being part of the Cardiff City family. But if the Bluebird goes, then so do I :(

But this is my whole point. YOU are now part of the Cardiff City family too, please, please please, do not run roughshod over
our feelings, our memories our definition of the Club.

Keep the Bluebird!! "The Dragons" will NOT take off, honestly.

I also heard you will be liaising with supporters groups re: the new badge next year, I prefer THIS version of events. Please
speak to the fans. Please keep the BLUEBIRD!!!!!

Again, thank you for the amazing job you've done at the Club so far

Best regards

Excellent work Chuckles but I genuinely believe Tan has no heart. He will look at this letter and push through with more changes to satisfy his greed. He knows no bounds, a truly evil man who has watched this deep divide in our fanbase with glee.

Excellent letter Taffy, especially as you speak for yourself and NOT "the majority of fans". Please post the email address you sent this to as I will be copying and pasting it and sending it myself.

However I will be deleting the "But if the Bluebird goes, then so do I" part as this would be a step too far for me. :ayatollah:

Dear Sir,

As a Season Ticket holder of the club, it will shortly be the time where fans will start to look at renewing their support for the 2013/14 season.

Over the past year, there have been numerous big changes at Cardiff City FC. The majority of fans were not too keen on the changes, but have continued to attend games and support the club.

Now that the club will shortly be looking for fans to renew their tickets, I think it reasonable to ask and whether further changes to the identity of the club will take place for the forthcoming season.

Will the crest be replaced? Will the famous and iconic "Bluebird" remain an integral part of the clubs identity and remain on the club crest? Many supporters of the club feel a real affinity with the bluebird, as do the football world in general.

I look forward to your response and hope the bluebird stays flying high!

Yours Faithfully,

A N Other

Barry, you should also ask if the fans (consortium) are going to get a say on the new badge design as promised at the start of the season.

I cant see the fuss over this letter. Its merely asking the club if they plan on any more changes before the person who penned the letter commits to spending upwards of £300. There is nothing detrimental or abusive in there. Just a question.

A reasonable request in my eyes.

Its a fair point. when the rebrand happened people said " Ohhhh im still going to go reluctantly but if they take the bluebird im off"

Thebn it will be "Ohhh im not happy but...."

You posted a load of season ticket cards before which tells me you are a long term holder

You set up the petition which we signed

Do you honestly think that they will listen to a 1000 or so letters.

Look at the rebrand? They said ok ok we wont do it, when they knew full well the logo and shirts had already been comissioned.

The new badge and seats are probably already a done deal.

Often in the Poets but it's not a patch on the Tavi, shame whats happened to that place. I do go to the Claude every now and then but only when the students aren't in town.

Chuckles, I genuinely admire you for this. You are doing something that you believe in but forgive my attitude. Tan is a man who couldn't give a monkies about the fans. If he did he wouldn't have changed our colours, the only way to drive his obnoxious and pungent shadow over this club is to hit him in the pocket or take more direct action.

I haven't bought a sausage in the stadium this season, and I am partial to a hot dog.
