He moved on as Birmingham came in and paid £3m for him, there were some quotes attributed to him when he left that did not go down to well with the city faithful

He scored 20 goals the season before he left, has pace & power and would be a good signing if we could get him.

£4m is a bit on the steep side for a squad player from Stoke!!

As a player he would be a great addition to the squad but a comment of an apology to what he said in the past would also go down well with many.

I put a quote up where the club accused him and him admitteding that he was trying to tap up Ledley.

Its is well known that clubs use their players to help tap up other players. The club must have had some information about it otherwise they wouldn't have come public about it surely.

Were he or Birmingham charged with tapping up Ledley by the FA? Surely they were if it was such a clear cut case? If not surely there is not a problem with Jerome and he's got nothing to apologise for.

Cameron Jerome has been knocking about the Premiership for the last 5 or 6 years. Played under a few managers an each one has considered him good enough to play a role in a team playing in the Prem. Very physical player who chips in with a few goals in and in my opinion would suit out system perfectly. If figures quoted are true he would cost around 4 Mill. Has also been playing against better opposition for the past 5 seasons so one would imagine that he would be quality against championship defenders.

Marvin Sordell had a great first half of last season and showed he can be prolific at championship level. I'd imagine he'd cost not far off half of Jerome's price and has also worked with Malky before so he knows what he's getting. However personally I personally see this as a slight risk as he's hardly setting the world alight up at Bolton for whatever reason this is. Also before last season he never had a season where he was prolific in front of goal. However Malky knows what he's getting so I wouldn't be at all dissapointed to see him signed up.

Charlie Austin on the other hand has been prolific every at every club he's been scoring more than a goal every 2 games at every club and league he's played in to date. Don't know as much about him as the other two but I'd imagine him to be an excellent finisher and looking at his stature he's 6'2 inches so he can prob hold his own up top. However with it being the January transfer window Burnley could hold out for a huge price for him ( presuming his contract isn't up ). I'd go as far as saying you'd get the other two for around the same price ( excluding wages ).

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Jerome and Sordell sign either. Looking at the squad ( strikers ) Malky assembled at the start of the season Maynard (injury) and Velikonja (presumably not good enough) are not available. Which leaves only Helguson and Gestede as the only out and out strikers at the club with Mason and Bellamy able to fill the gap aswel if asked. If Malky the Malaysians are willing to back Malky as much as they say they are then I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 out of the 3 come in presuming these are the targets he has in mind. From a footballing point of view and the rumors floating about I don't think it's unrealistic. If i had to pick one I think I'd opt for Jerome.

Doubt he'll sign.

Jerome would be a cut above Sordell. I don't know why people are so hung up on Cameron, he's a quality player.

Whilst I have no doubts over Malky's decisions, it worries me that 2 managers have been at Bolton and Sordell has not got into a side struggling in the Championship.

Agreed (for once :? ) as I mentioned last week, not just 2 managers, 2 managers who were decent forwards themselves in their time so should know a thing or two about that position.

Although when talking about Sordell, Freedman did say what he had seen of him in training the boy was a very good finisher and needed to get to the bottom of why the move hadnt worked for him.

There's talk of him being homesick from London, but a move to Cardiff isn't going to cure that.

Wouldn't mind Jerome back at all, but Austin for me would be the best option if we're looking at wages, even though as someone said he'd probably cost more.

Wonder what we'll do when Maynard is back? Jerome/Austin/Sordell and Maynard up front with Noone and Bellamy on the wing, sounds good imo :ayatollah:

Maybe working with Malkay again will give him a boost and London to Cardiff is very easy to commute to

He wouldn't want to leave it too long as teams around us are already recruiting! Teams are not going to hang around acquiring the quality players that we are looking for.
