People say we got rid of history, got rid of tradition, like what? PLEASE TELL ME.
Our true amazing moments in history are winning the FA Cup in 1927 vs Arsenal and beating Real Madrid. Those are the only two glorious moments we had in 100 years of blue. Yes we got to finals, been to Wembley plenty of times but no one remembers the losers and that is a fact.
In blue we had 2 glorious moments which on paper we still have, just check our historic results. Most of our time in blue was bad. We had hooliganism run through the core of the club and build us up a terrible reputation. Ask many mothers a few years ago before we became family club of the year of their perception of the club and they'll tell you 'hooligans'.
There will be those that remember us for winning the FA Cup. There will be those that remember us for beating Madrid. However, most remember us as a side who were actively involved in hooliganism in its prime and now later as bottlers. Simple fact and you can't hide from it. We had a terrible image.
The only tradition we've washed down the drain is a bad image. If we go up this year in red the bottler tag is immediately gone. In red we have a chance to behave and prove ourselves as a new, fresh, reformed club that parents want to take their kids to see. Mothers turning up to take their sons etc. They may sit in the family stand but they're still paying to get in through the gate and the more the merrier.
Another fact is rival teams only remember the bad things other clubs do. When we beat Palace the other day we got called divers, time wasters and cheats. Thats because rival fans will always have a distorted view of your club. They will remember us for hooliganism and bottling it, not winning the FA Cup or beating Madrid. That is something only us bluebirds hold close to our hearts because we have an affinity with the club that can't be matched. Thats why we follow the bluebirds, the bond runs deep.
Our image was appalling and to move on in a business sense you must have a good image. Tan realised that so changed things up so that a decade or so down the line the club is known by more people as a nice place to come and that means more away fans through the gates as well.
Look at how many people cant be bothered with bubble trips, even some on here, just because they're too much effort and the police treat you like animals.
The fact is, Tan knows deep down its all about image but he cant come straight out and say 'because of the hooligan past' and use that as an excuse. It will turn fans against one another worse than whats happening now. Fans who weren't involved in hooliganism will be blaming those who were for the rebrand if he did. He would be alienating an entire section of his fan base, his customers.
Hes not an idiot. The guy is a genius. He has taken all the flack for it and made himself look the bad guy. This way only a very small minority will not go. In time, when we do well peoples views of Tan will change and as a new chapter in the history of Cardiff City is written, people will move on.
Perception changes because its human nature to judge a book by its cover.

You want to know why? Because the die hard fans who used to cause trouble have stayed away and the newer fans have seen a red club, a club wanting to change for the better, a club winning family club of the year awards, so they turn up and take their places. These new fans bring more fans through word of mouth. 'Great day out down the City, no trouble down there anymore like there used to be' etc. and more people give them a chance.
Sorry to have to say it but hooliganism set this club back many years in terms of a business sense. In business image and customer relationship is everything.

People read the shit above and don't take their children or buy their children merchandise. Far safer to let their children watch Sky Sports than risk them getting caught up in trouble down the stadium.
Its a hard truth we must all come to accept. We have had our times making Ninian intimidating, calling football players of rival teams names as they take a throw in, lighting flares in the grange end but we need to move on for business reasons. If we are ever to capitalise on our reach we need to change people's perceptions of the club and like it or hate it, Tan has done everything 100% spot on so far. He has changed the image on the eye i.e. the kit and badge, he has got the local community more involved, people like Jenkins have come up with good ideas to engage the community, the club has won awards, papers have said how nice a day trip it is. People read and see this and it changes some of their views of us.
Rival football fans opinions dont matter because they'll hate us no matter what we do. They have their club to support and that is not going to change. Its not them we need to please. The people we need to please are those looking to get involved with football and want a safe environment to go and watch a game and have a nice day out.

Thats what you're getting whether you like it or not and so are most other clubs in the modern era. Fans who turn up with families or groups of friends and have a lovely day out and then go home. You'll get the odd nutter shouting out and everyone looks at them. It happens all the time in the CCS but they are in the minority.

Go support golf or something, the atmosphere is piss poor half the time in ccs cos of happy clappers like you, I ain't condoning hooliganism but your attitude with all this happy clapping bollocks kills the atmosphere at the ground therefore kills the experience of watching the city for thousands upon thousands of fans FACT.

Im in the only part of the stadium with an atmosphere. Standing for most of the game only to be told to sit down by some old crooner behind ok. Im not condoning this way of things just saying thats the way it is and the sooner people accept it the better.
If you watch the WBA vs Fulham game you will see the place is like a library. Lukaku just had to try and pump up the crowd. They chanted for about 3 minutes and now its quiet again. Thats modern football for you.

Its all about changing the clubs image which Tan is doing. Thats the business sense behind it. Its okay for clubs like Chelsea in the heart of London to still act like complete morons because they have the population there to fill their stadium week in, week out. The hooligan element wont bother them. It will hurt clubs like us though without a massive population around the club. We need as many people from the local areas as possible.

No, thats what I say to people who have a stab at people just getting on with things. Went on to CCMB and him and alfie are having digs at people on new years. They can both do one. Fans are trying to just get on with things then we have to log on and see their monotonous dribble, they both need to be told.

Have you even seen the thread? Purposely went back on CCMB to insult and abuse people. Thats the point. An opinion is one thing, abusing everyone is another.

chelsea don,t always sell out and they are a europeon super force.your arguement about attracting local people is a funny one.so did tan decide it was a great idea to piss off the natives by changing the colours from blue to red?master stroke that eh?your gates are over calculated .you know it and i know it.you,re 7 pionts clear at the top of the league and you will not have every seat filled at your next home game.winning family club of the year is good.you did it in blue i believe?hooligans?so you needed a rebrand to shed the image?well i spent 2hrs with some of your so called ex hooligans today and i can tell you they don,t need a rebrand to behave.top men the lot of them.not a redbird amongst them.absolute garbage to say tan has pulled a master stroke .tony fernandez at q.p.r has though.by keeping the blue and white hoops and selling the red away kit on full steam in malaysia he has killed two birds with one stone.vincent tan has no respect for ccfc tradition
