A forum for all things Cardiff City
Sat Apr 02, 2011 12:00 am
My name is Mark
I live near Bridgend
Unlike most of you I am a relative newbie with CCFC but I do remember back to the 70's 80's when my mates came back from the City matches telling tales of violence on the terraces, the Llantwit Major away crew were a good crowd. Laterly I got into City via the boys in work who are die hard Bluebirds to be honest it didn't take much to get me on board.
Didn't get to many games last season, even fewer this season due to various issues but got a season ticket for next season so lookout.
I've got 2 kids one 13 and one 8, both Bluebirds. The eldest, Will has started the Cardiff City Fan Club on facebook for his friends and Steven my 8 year old is in the Bridgend Football Academy so hopefully a future City player. Both live and die in their City tops and even wear them through "Jackland".
Don't know how much I'll post but excellent forum.

Live in Risca now but from Pontypool
Work in Newport as a forklift driver
Had a season ticket for past 13 years
Favourite Ninian memories Kurt Nogans late late winner against Hartlepool in 2000/2001. Or Earnies stunner against Stoke.
Favourite away memories was a game we didn't even win. Fa cup replay at Reading (98 i think) lost on pens. That was my first away game. Me and a mate just loved the atmosphere and spirit that our fans and team gave that night. It will live in my mind until the day i die.
Teams I dislike the most Bristol city,Reading and Swansea.

Hi all.
My name is Emre and I am 17 years old. Have been supporting Cardiff City since mid-2007, as a result of football madness followed by being fond of almost all football leagues. I especially like English & Welsh football so much and Cardiff City has always seemed very nice to me and I decided to be a Bluebird.
And since then, I am living with a Premier League dream, which will never turn to real as long as we have DJ and Howard Webb.
It may look weird but I am a highschool student whose department is foreign language, which mainly focuses on English and German. Even if I have never been in Cardiff so far, my heart is always with you, Cardiff City.

All right Lads,
Goodday to you all.
My name is Jordy and I'm from the Netherlands.
I'm 18 years old, and have been a Cardiff supporter all my life. I might sound a little bit strange to you lads, so let me explain.
I've always loved football, I only played it for a couple of years myself as a wee kid, then I switched to Thaiboxing as I grew.
Because every little kid grew fond of a club I developed a preference too. Some became Ajax supporter, others went to see PSV and another group of kids grew fond of Feyenoord. I liked Dutch Eredivisie football, but I didn't really felt any passion for a club. But then one of my older cousins showed me a Premier League game on the telly. I believe it was a Chelsea game. Before the game he told me English football was the best there was. Best supporters, nicest stadiums, greatest teams. All this nonsense.
I watched the game with him, and it was nothing like he said. The football was awful, the atmosphere seemed shite and it disappointed me so much that I didn't want to see any English football ever again. A few weeks later I saw another game on the television. I believe it was some special broadcast, just like the Chelsea game, because usually we'd never get any British football down here. Anyhow, it was a Cardiff game against (I'm not for sure, so please don't blame me if I'm wrong) Derby County in the First Division as it was called back then.
The difference with the Chelsea game was huge. I was just a small boy behind a TV-screen, but I could feel the intense atmosphere, I saw the supporters and the stadium and I loved it right away. That was the moment when I decided, that's my football club.
I've been a Cardiff supporter ever since. Because I'm only 18 years old, I've only been to the UK once. We went to London with the family, but I insisted we'd stay a couple of days longer in Britain to visit Cardiff and Ninian Park. We couldn't enter the stadium, but I was there. I was near the stadium of my football club.
It's always been my dream to visit a Cardiff game. Ofcourse the derby against the Jacks would be awesome, but I just want to visit one game of Europe's most beautiful football club.
Excuse me if my English is rubbish.
Cheers,
Jordy

Name: Ben
Age: 53
Location: Alberta, Canada originally from Port Talbot
Started Supporting in 1971
Best Ninian Park memory : First game, being taken with a mate by his dad as a 13 year old to see a little team called Real Madrid, was hooked after that.
Went regular til I moved away in the mid 80's, always kept an eye on results ever since, maybe something to do with age but starting to feel the motivation again.

Forgot to mention, I saw Ronnie Moore score
