Well firstly I'm not dismissing anyone. People have a right to believe anything, I'm merely asking (to which we were invited to) the reasons behind why people believe and countering them as they make no sense to me.

I wouldn't say I'm using contemporary logic to counter the views either, logic would infer some sort of theory and thought process. I'm not claiming to know what happened or even debate theories into what may have happened. I'm just saying what the bible says happened - didnt.

Evolution. Yes it can be argued god created evolution. But if he did then the bible is wrong. He created man on the fifth day or whatever, yet men evolved from apes ofer millions of years. In the bible it says he created man "in his own image". If the bible accepts the notion of evolution the God is in fact an ape. But ignoring that and getting into intelligent design, intelligent design would mean that no animals would find themselves extinct yet 99% of animals at have ever lived now find themselves extinct. This was because they didnt have the required resources to survive in their environment and didnt evolve quick enough. This is far from intelligent design, or perfect design as Christians would have you believe.

Plant life came first (scientifically plants have to come first to create oxygen for life), then life appeared in the water, then this life left the water and came on to the land as slithering creatures, (as accurate according to evolution). then these slithering creatures became animals (as accurate according to evolution) these animals became human (as accurate according to evolution). Its extremely simplified but accurate but no it doesnt go into great details of evolution it doesnt go into great details about dinosaurs (they didnt know what dinosaurs were, they had never seen one given they were extinct).

The bible is a book that is now, in parts at least, proven to be wrong. That's whats being discussed here yet nobody can come up with a reason as to why. If you want to say you are against science then that's fine, although a different argument all together.

If god wrote it, it should be spot on 100% with no mistakes, especially on the scale there are. If people wrote it then that would of course explain why it's wrong but then surely it must be said that they clearly made it up.
