Come on Scotland

Scotland can't be making mistakes like that. Calmly done by Vinicius, but such a poor mistake to make.

WTF was he doing? Amateur night at the World Cup, absolutely ridiculous faffing around like that at the best of times but against Brazil? Crazy

Disallowed by VAR, still 1-0. They're lucky.

That’s a very soft foul.

I don't understand why Scotland are playing in such an open way.
Lose 1-0 and they'll probably still go through. Don't need to be chasing the game like this, especially this early.

Scotland are flopping around like a fish out of water. Their defence has pulled the pin out of the grenade & thrown it at the keeper. Abysmal.
Wed Jun 24, 2026 11:10 pm
A massive gulf in class but if they can keep it tight in the second half, they might still progress in the tournament. Any more faffing around and they may as well pack their bags.
Wed Jun 24, 2026 11:12 pm
Just read that’s it’s been over 3 hours since Scotland had a shot on target.
Wed Jun 24, 2026 11:29 pm
3-0 now and I think Scotland need a goal.
A -3 goal difference might be a tough ask to get one of the best third placed spots.
Thu Jun 25, 2026 12:01 am
It finishes 3-0 to Brazil.
Scotland do finish third but three points and a minus three goal difference is unlikely to be enough for them to progress. Opta said it would give them a 42% chance of going through.

There are a few critical games that need to go Scotland's way but one in particular sticks out. If Algeria draw their last game with Austria, both those teams go through to the next round, one as group runners-up and the other as a best 3rd place team. For Scotland's sake I hope both teams don't play for the draw.

That’s what happens when you put a washed up alky in charge.

Took a look at the scenarios for their qualification and can see two out of the four results needed have got chance of happening ... but what as become apparent the new format as meant more games with the scenarios of the infamous Austria /Germany draw all those year ago, be interesting to see how many boring draws there are.....
The other scenario need teams to lose by 3 or more goals hard likely given the teams involved.

If interested here's the permitations
Group F: Senegal and Iraq to draw.
Or Iraq to beat Senegal by no more than two goals.
Group H: Uruguay to lose to Spain.
Group G: Iran to lose to Egypt.
SATURDAY
Group L: Croatia to lose to Ghana by at least three goals.
Group K: DR Congo v Uzbekistan to be a draw.
Or Uzbekistan to win by no more than three goals.
Group J: This is a carbon copy of Group D, with Austria and Algeria on three points and a draw would send both through.
Scotland need Algeria to lose by two or more goals, or Austria to be beaten by at least four goals.

The American female ref is putting back women's or yank refs back decades in the Germany game

I'm not watching tonight but she made some good points that the ban for the Qatari players was too harsh.

Just a note Scotland are 8th in 3rd place qualification only needs one result to go against them in games left to be knocked out...

That Germany result was very bad news for them.
Only thing I'm looking out for until the knockouts. Problem with this expanded system is a lot of groups are dead (other that 4th/3rd) on the last match day.

As I put there is more games where both teams need a draw to progress so potentially bore draws... but the good thing on expansion is the smaller nations participation that as been a big success!
Scotland down to 7% chance of progressing the two teams directly below them got good chance of winning only needs one of them to do so Scots out! Cape Verde is one and they play Saudi ...

Norway decided to rest players and Haaland not playing, so that's the end of that.

Norway obviously wanting to come 2nd in their group, makes a mockery of the whole thing & makes it not even worth watching.

Yes, I agree. Although I do remember in Euro 2016 that people said in the Wales/England group it would be better to finish 2nd.
Wales won the group and got to the semi finals. England finished 2nd and then lost to Iceland.
Unsurprisingly tonight, France are already 1-0 up.

Ruined it as a game taking 10 players out
