The thing is whittingham shouldnt be giving the ball away. He's meant to be our most talented player ands hes giving the ball away in our half. If Rudy lost he ball it would be further up the field. And Whittingham would also very often kick the ball a yard to far for a player to get to. He was very poor today not at his usual high standards.

I understand your point but this thread was about Rudy so I gave an opinion on Rudy. Whittingham was poor at times I agree and a few times he passed to Kim and Kim had to turn out of trouble or drop it back to a defender to restart the move. Had this thread been about Whittingham I would have given my honest opinion on him.

In my opinion Rudy was lazy. If people think otherwise they are entitled to have that opinion but the first thing I would be doing if I was manager of the club would be telling Rudy to watch videos of Bellamy and gain an understanding of how to properly press, contain and when to apply that pressure.

If Rudy works on his pressing and touch he will become a very, very great asset.

And the reason I brought up Whitts was to show that he certainly wasnt the only one give the ball away and certaintly wasnt the only one. As for saying he's lazy he's 6ft bloody 4" do you really expect him to be tearing up the ground to hassle players like bellamy does? He did what was asked of him and won the ball in the air and held it up for other players. And even played some good passes to bellamy. Why not say the same to Helguson he didnt chase the ball much?

I agree with you he has alot to work on but the criticism of him today was totally wrong.

I don't think anybody is raving about him, purely pointing out that his performances have improved lately (which nobody can deny). I wouldn't say he's rubbish either, 1 goal and 3 assists isn't bad for a player who get's 30 mins tops each game, plus you need to factor in that he had no preseason and missed the first couple of months of the season. I'm not convinced he'll ever be a regular for us, but when he does well he should rightfully be praised and encouraged, not reminded of how 'rubbish' he is.

He put in a fantastic shift and actually managed to get us in their half a lot of times and managed to get us up the field a bit more because second half didn't start brightly.

I must have watched a different game to the rest of you. Yes his hold up play was better tham usual at times but that's the bare minimum i expect from a player of his style. His knockdowns still went nowhere near anyone.
