Leeds united away FA Cup January 1975. Lost 4-1 in the days when the club would load 2 or 3 trains full for cup games. Third round game I think. My older brother took me. I was 14. Why worst away ever. well...

1. got to leeds on a full train first of 2, long walk to ground, bundled along by police on horseback, got knocked over by the horse, ouch....

2. got to ground only to find out we my bro had got tickets in leeds end, luckily our scarfs were similar in those days...
3. we scored i celebrated...alone...got a slap....twice...even though we were already well beaten...
4. after game trek back to train.. i was hurting..
5. got on train, no seat..... long trip too
6. some guy from valleys called tonto asked why i got slapped, told him, he gave me another slap, and then nicked my scarf.

apart from that bloody great day out....

been to many an away since.... it was my first taste of football rivalry the hard way, even though i had been to many home and aways for 9 years...

Without a shadow of doubt the 6-0 debacle at PNE a couple of years ago for many reasons as well as the result I wont bore you with. The 4-4 at P'boro was bizarre and cold.

Also a last game of season at Bury about 20 odd years ago - beautiful day but we needed a win/point to avoid relegation. Seem to remember we lost 2-0 without a shot on goal in 90 mins and had 5 defenders on the bench - typical City !

I remember Tonto, one of the Port Talbot lads he was, hung around with Jaws, Hobnail and Obe, haven't seen them for years although I think Jaws has passed away, rip.
