Parentheses - Brackets (Rank 1)
Exponent - Order (Rank 2)
Multiply - Division (Rank 3) - same rank multiplication and division - does not matter - just in order of availability
Division - Multiply (Rank 3)
Add - Add (Rank 4) - add and subtract same rule as multiply and divide - whatever is available carry out.
Subtract - Subtract (Rank 4)

PEMDAS is just easier to remember because of = Please Excuse My Dead Aunty Sally which is a well known phrase in algebra. :lol:


Therefore, you multiply before you divide so the answer is one.
