RIP Ricky Wright.

The 1st CCFC chairman during my years following CCFC that actually invested in the club and brought the fans back. The 93 team was the dogs bollocks.

Thanks Rick and Eddie for the memories.

Rick Wright made Football attractive to youngsters and affordable for many families.

The Junior Bluebirds Club was excellent and the pricing structure was superb with paying more or less
depending on where we were in the League. Collecting the Vouchers from the South Wales Echo youngsters went to matches for as little as £2 on occasions. £3 at most, most weeks.

I can only echo the sentiments of those who have said that the 1992/93 season was the best ever supporting Cardiff City.

Who remembers the 3-3 draw with York City on Boxing day, 3-0 up at half time only to draw 3-3, was a remarkable season with some huge crowds considering the level we were at.

I don't wish to be dismissive of modern football, times move on and things change, I accept that, but to me and many I would imagine, that was what Football and the experience was all about.

Ricky wright and Eddie may really captured the publics minds back in those days. 92/93 was my first year watching the city and what a season that was.
These two gentlemen helped create something very special in south wales.
RIP Mr Wright you were a pioneer for Cardiff city football club.

Sad news RIP.

I remember collecting the Echo tokens, God those were the days. Happy memories.
My son was a junior Bluebird, aged 6 or 7, and has followed City ever since.
He lives and works in Newcastle now, and all his Geordie mates in the office are Newcastle mad.
They all look upon Cardiff as their second team now, and look out for our results :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

That day in Scunthorpe will live with me for a long time. After the match, Rick signed his name on my forehead with a green felt pen. I feel sad now, but 1992 and 1993 were happy days :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I think it was Rick Wright who was the first to give the 'sleeping giant' a poke and wake it up from it's slumber and help us get where we are today :ayatollah:

Who remembers the open day at Barry Island with Eddie May and all the players present i have some great photos somewhere and always remember my Son who was a Junior Bluebird at the time being lifted up on Lee Baddleys shoulder :ayatollah: :old:
