here we go the nampy pamby liberial is logged on.

nothing to do with liberalism my friend. I find it a dangerous activity to tell people billions of pounds and jobs are coming their way when at this moment in time nothing could be further from the truth.
you dont need to be a liberal to spot that your an idiot just a bit of common sense and a basic primary school education.

are you a greenpeace member..?

no even that question shows you havent fully read the whole story your just reading a headline and trying to look clever.

To answer your question, NO im not a member of greenpeace. Just lets get that one straight.

1. We dont know how much gas is below us, though I will admit the gas companies sound hopeful (but they do hope to make a lot of money from this). The current digging is purely exploratory ie no guarantee of any jobs or any money.

2. The promise that our energy rates will drop like it has in America cannot be substantiated. America has a whole continent to play with, we have a very small island.

I hope it works out and we get jobs and money and cheaper energy bills because of it, but like ive said before we are currently worlds apart if you think this will guarantee jobs or money in its current state.

Far from it, as a resident in the Vale then we have had alot of information regarding both sides to the arguement because the first licence to this type of drilling has gone to a company located on a Vale of Glamorgan site.

So to the people who say that I wouldn't want it on my doorstep, well it is and I'm still up for it because of the boost it will give the ecomony both locally and nationally.

Dont change the argument because you cant answer the question. Happy you learnt something as a politician though shows some promise.

Ive never said it shouldnt happen or wont happen. All im saying is its far too early to be promising people jobs and money.
If there is enough gas underneath us and it will be a benefit go for it.
Fact is we dont know yet but the exploration will tell us.
So dont go around giving it the big thumbs up yet because it could turn out to be a complete waste of time.

No I know you didn't say that it shouldn't or won't happen, that was a comment made at other comments stated earlier on in the debate. However the two years of investigating gives the government confidence for it to continue and that alone is positive news for a possible boost to the local/national economy surely.

No the investigation has said its safe to continue exploration as 18 months ago exploration caused an earthquake or small tremor depending on how you would like to put it. Also this is Lancashire here in South Wales we have to adopt a different tactic according to the gas company so we dont know if its even a viable option yet.

The key word in your last sentence is 'possible' we dont know if this is a waste of time yet.

Even if it is you will have numerous hoops to jump through.
Planning permission will be blocked by greenpeace and the 'not in my backyard types' over and over again. Then they will have a protest, then greenpeace will start living in trees again where our fracking operation is supposed to happen. The government says 2015 if their lucky, id say 2020.

The vale council has recently given permission for testing after a small number were jumping up and down and the council had assurances from welsh water

No I doubt if it would be like any other new developments in the country I suppose we will have to wait and see. Personally I rather have the opportunity of having a share in this Industry than thinking 'what if' for many years to come.

Angry Man, I've asked this honest question several times but still no answer....

How come you are against Labour and everything left wing, yet you got elected in Merthyr at some point before? Did you stand as an independent or something?

I work in the industry and researched this subject as part of my masters.

Dangerous game - drilling through strata that is unknown, with pockets of methane, fissures and other gases and substances.

Could cause a major geological fault and/or explosion.

Angry man is all about the UK that dissapoints me - thick as f**k.

One question on the economic benefit.

With all the mass of Gold and minerals on the continent of Africa that have been ripped out of the ground by people working in terrible conditions for terrible pay (remember welsh coal anyone?) - Who has benefitted?

Stop talking shit Adam - you need to read a bit more and take your fuckin blinkers off.
