Younger people are more likely to think they speak the language but it'll only be when they leave school and try to use it they realise how little they actually know.

Out of curiousity, how much is actually spent promoting the Welsh language? Tried google and the best I could come up with was £400,000 just to translate the meetings from the Senedd, which is a fair amount just for starters.

Its a global market now and the future workers should now be taught Spanish, Russian and Chinese otherwise the Wales economy will never go forward.

Must be millions with the road signs, extra junk mail, bills in both languages. But the nationalists are keen to keep it going because they want Wales seperate from the U.K, which will result in Wales going down the pan, but at least we can say we are fucked in Welsh.

The opposite in my opinion. Teaching welsh to children whos parents who would rather their child education take a different avenue should be a democratic rather than what can be seen as an un-democractic educational move which is very much like the re-brand. Were the supporters asked about the move Gwyn..?

England has a rich history, and it is taught in schools every day. You knobheads grew
up learning more about Oliver Cromwell than you did Llewelyn or Owain Glyndwr.
Thats what the 'winners' do. they write the History books. But MOST Welsh people
bothered to learn about the History of WALES, not just what you clowns have been

We have a language in our country that is a thousand years old and a massive part
of our culture and heritage, and you want it to die, even though over 700,000 of

Now they don't make their children speak a language which a mountainus tribe uses because its their hertitage because they want their country to go forward and not look back. Now we have the benefit of English speaking from birth then other languages which billions of people speak are Chinese, Russian and Spanish so surely children in Wales would benefit more speaking these languages rather than Welsh which a few thousand uses at best.

Really? over a quarter of people in Wales speak the language and are proud to. The percentage
of people that despise the language and want it dead is negligible. There are probably more
English people in Wales that live here and respect Welsh than there are Welsh people who hate it.
Every child in Wales speaks English, every child in Wales has options to learn other languages in
schools.

How high-handed (and typical) of you to even suggest that millions of your own Countrymen are

I've got English mates living in Wales who learned the words. I had an English mate who married
a Welsh girl in Coventry who learnt it to sing to his wifes family on their wedding day. Thats respect
that is.
