Is 8,000 shirts that good a sales figure considering the size of our fan base.? Lots of kids obviously want a red shirt but it still feels like the majority still like wearing blue rather than red.

Exactly. Obviously didn't order that many!!

Loads more blue, they just aren't buying new shirts.

Can't really tell on a match day. Due to this cold weather most have a jumper or coat on over their shirt.

I have no reason to doubt the figure, the club shop has sold out twice and had unprecedented demand for it prior to taking stock.

The lack of blue sales is more the case of people just buying the home shirt (like usual) and the true blues just not buying anything.

Annis,

Just because Sam's not been paid and the loans to equity has not yet happened, this does not mean that Tan is not still in control and comfortable with the situation. Some of the dealings when Sam and the riddler were in charge absolutely stank and they made Cardiff City a joke in the football community in terms of a lack of integrity and business professionalism. Some things have still to be unravelled even now and the new regime has faced a massive task rebuilding some trust (not necessarily the fans trust I accept)

I don't blindly trust Tan, because he clearly has his faults and will steamroller through changes. However, he is without doubt shrewd when it comes to business and getting things sorted to his benefit.

I never ever said Sam never made mistakes or was ever stupid, of course he did and was on many occasions.
Out of curiosity, What happened regarding Tan's Forensics accountants he employed to sort Sam out, well over a year ago?

They did not do a very good job and this is being addressed. This was indicative of a situation that has been addressed in terms of Tan ensuring internal club matters are now dealt with more professionally by directors and support staff who understand what is required and who are fully on board.

in fairness annis you say you dont think he is really trying to sort sam out but then say that he is hiring all these people to sort it out when it suits you to say they found nothing against sam, you can surely see why fans dont trust sam, i do not trust either of them, but we wouldnt be in this situation if sam did not over pay, and you cant use the "we wouldnt be where we are now without him" then in the next breath say you would love to be blue even if it meant the lower leagues, its not a dig but you cant be suprised people dont trust sam at all, we all know you want whats best for cardiff city football club, but youre always saying VT isnt doing this and he isnt doing that when he is hiring all these people to try sort it out and get the best deal for himself, and by getting a better deal for himself it means a better deal for cardiff city, why didnt sam turn his loans into equity then? yet you say VT has to do it, like i said its not a dig but theres a lot of things that i get confused with sometimes

I doubt even Tan could prove that you've sold 4 times as many red shirts as you have blue. It's propeganda in my opinion to convince fans that the rebrand was the right thing to do.

Of course he could , if he needed to.

SCFC wrote:There's no way you've sold 8,000 red shirts

Why? I have 2 red shirts and a blue shirt. A load of my cousins have bought the red shirts and I know a few people in university who have the red shirt as well.

The reason they sold is simple. People saw the novelty but next year it will wear off. This year was 'OH WOW CARDIFF IN RED, THE BLUEBIRDS IN RED, THIS MIGHT NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN, BETTER GET A SHIRT BEFORE THEY ARE DISCONTINUED'.

Next year, if we are still in the Championship sales will be right down on red merchandise. The new novelty effect will have worn off. I basically got red shirts because i never ever thought id see the day Cardiff played in red.

It's something that I can in decades, if we go back to blue, look back on and think 'Wow, remember when that happened and we were rebranded etc'. Its all part of our history now and people like collecting every piece of history to form a timeline that the've been a part of. When something like this happens, its a milestone in a timeline so its really no shock to me that the shirts have sold so well.

I have even seen neutrals down here in West Wales wearing the red top.

Forensic accountants have are there to go into the minutia of the detail, not necessarily to find out Sam, but just to check the accounts have no nasty surprises. From that detail VT can make the deal safe in the knowledge he knows what is there.

I feel cheated, I can't see why the red thing was necessary, but reluctantly accepted it "knowing" we would have one owner all above board, but the tossing around is wearing thin.

I personally think if we are in the top 6 still in Jan, Tan knows it will be all or nothing, so he will go for it. I think Carl meant to say, he knows Malky already has 2 players on his list/lined up for Jan, Premier players on loan(as we have heard), but Malky will spend as well if he thinks there is a need too.

I was wondering that. Are there 8,000 sad people like me who buy a new club shirt every year like me, no matter what? I have any number of blue ones so sometimes buy an away shirt as it is different.
