Re: Does the bluebird really matter?

Why would it bother me.
No ninian park, no blue home strip, a change of badge and £3.60 for a pint of piss.
Why on earth would the loss of the bluebird, last vestige of the club i love being changed bother me?
Course it matters - how could it not.
Whatever your thoughts on the rebrand, Id be intersted to know if the pro red/dont care as long as we are afloat/reluctant red brigade actually draw a line at some point or whether they really have no boundaries at all.

Presumably even a change of name of the club itselfwould not bother you Gwyn the way you talk - or are you playing devils advocate

Yes. Complete Mickey mouse club if this happens. In all honesty, think our club is long gone. Regardless of the above, may sack home games off next yr and just get an away membership, try and see some more grounds.

Yes it matters.

More now than ever. In my opinion.

I'm finding it really hard to deal with the changes so far and for me it would be the final nail in the coffin.

After 23 years as a City fan, I can't see me renewing my season ticket next year as it is.

It just doesn't feel like Cardiff City when I watch us anymore.

The thing that makes me feel the most sick about what has happened, is the thousands of gutless, plastic, so called City fans that sold their soul to the devil and didn't have the bottle to stand up to a dictator.

It hurts because one of the things I loved most in life has been taken away from me and no more than 5 years ago, we all stood shoulder to shoulder on the terraces of Ninian Park, all sharing a common passion and love for the club we all supported. Those days are long gone and without all the pathetic Red v Blue arguments, I just really want my pride and joy back...

It would be one of two or three things where I say enough is enough.

Not lying here but if that does happen I'll probably go and watch Welsh league football.

The change of colour we can live with to some degree, but removing the Bluebird or not calling us the Bluebird will see a lot fans taking a stand. It may be a bridge to far. Sadly VT has us over a barrel I mean if we get to the Prem it would be hard not to renew or walk away as we have waited years for this to potentially happen. However if we dont get promoted and he removes the Bluebird I think crowds will dwindle next year without a doubt. Ironically if we do get to the Prem and he pushes on to remove the bluebird I think its inevitable there will be stronger defiance that the change of colour.

I think they should get rid of it.

We are no longer the Bluebirds (even Ali fails to call us by that name), we are the Dragons. If the club wants to reach the Asian hordes, then the dragon is the way forward, and not some bluebird. The very fact that there is a tiny bluebird on the crest, dwarfed in comparison by a big shiny dragon, clearly indicates that its placement was a sweetener and nothing more.

Dragons.

If we get promoted and the bluebird were to go then I think there would be lots of disgruntlement but I don't think that many fans could stomach walking away and missing premiership football. As an earlier poster pointed out, it is an ' if' at the moment.

If we don't get promoted, my personal feeling is that the club will revert back to blue next season as I can't see Tan sinking another 20-30 million into chasing the premiership again. I think he'll attempt to cut his losses, recoup as much as he can from player sales, reduce the playing budget and attempt to sell the club on at a knock down price.

It definitely does matter to me. If it goes it will make us a bigger joke to other clubs. I really hope it isn't true, if it is I'll consider to stop supporting the club.

Re-read the opening post, its purely rumours at the moment. Some have an element of truth behind them, some don't. With this one we'll have to wait and see.

Ironic that the f*cking King of IF's is criticizing the use of them

''IF YOU PROTEST, WE WILL BURY YOU''

''IF YOU BURN THAI FLAGS, VINCENT TAN WILL BE SAD''

''IF YOU STAND UP TO THE REBRANDING, THEN YOUR CLUB WILL DIE''

Don't come on here too often anymore but will say this;

The red homes shirts mattered to most people at the start but now not many people care because they're top of the league. If/when they start dropping and end up with a play-off losers medal again then I don't think people will be too happy but it won't be about the red, it'll be all about next year because this is how humans work.

Obviously we all want success for the Bluebirds but getting to the Prem in Red/as Dragons isn't really worth it for me compared to watching the mighty Bluebirds play in blue even if we're in a lower league due to financial situations (even though I believe the Red or Dead idea is bullsh*t)

If the Bluebird gets removed then people will complain about it for a couple of weeks and move on if they're successful.

Although, I'd like to say that I respect you whatever your decision regarding red.
