Cardiff v Hereford 1975-76 season = 39,000

at this game also, not splitting hairs but 35,000 i think. CCFC the real grangend.

It would've been about 1961/62 and I was 8 or 9 years old and was with my Dad, can remember standing on the corner between the Bob Bank and the Grange End by the cafe and the toilets, not sure who the opponents were but remember they were playing in green (possibly Norwich), didn't think that much of it at the time but 3 or 4 years later I was a regular with my 2 mates, been hooked ever since.

My first City game was Palace at NP in 2004 when I was 8, lost 2-0 we were useless
My first football league game was in the away end at the Wretch Field in 2002 with Rochdale as my grandfather is a huge Dale fan, Gary Jones scored an equaliser for Dale in the 89th

I think first game I went to was liverpool v norwich, 1991 I think, rush, nicol and barnes scored. It was a game we went with the local side. Would have been 7 yrs old. Went to a city game around the same time. Might have been a few months younger. All I know is that it was standing area, poss grange end remember it being a small crowd and the grange was half empty as I could see the game. No idea who it was against.

Apart from my old man taking me to a boxing day derby v Jacks around 1983, which I cannot really remember as I was only 6, my first City game was away to Hereford in Jan 92. Drew 2-2. Took 4000 there.

1st home game v Burnley. 16000 there lost 2-0 but atmosphere wise it was immense. Crushed in the bob bank.

I was hooked after that. Even used to go away on my own if my mates couldnt afford it.

Wish I still had the same buzz but times change.

Think it was Birmingham early 90s think we lost 2-0. Not sure why we were playing them though I guess they wernt in our league. Greatest early memory running on pitch promotion year from the grange.
First away was chesterfield mid/late 90s all I remember was singing "shall we build a church for you" and seeing all the fighting after the game.


Off topic a bit. But anyone remember in the mid /late 90 we played two Friday night home games in a month. 2-1 down in both and won both 3-2 in injury time?? That's what really got me hooked

I was 6 at the time and been going down since i was 3, been a season ticket holder ever since this game, love it!

Sunderland at home in the 1979/80 season , we drew 1-1 . there was thousands of Sunderland there , they filled the Grange end and the away supporters enclosure .. there was fighting everywhere from Cardiff central all the way to the ground.
Sunderland needed a point to go up , i can remember going 1 nil up and thinking oh f**k i hope we don't win then Sunderland made it 1-1 , you see see the relief on loads of the Cardiff fans faces including myself but that was it i was HOOKED.

Mine was v QPR in the league cup back in 88. I was 11 at the time. Went with my mate and his dad. We got battered by them 1-4 on the night 1-7 overall!!

First Cardiff game for me was against Reading when I was 10 years old. We lost the match, but it was nice to see Earnie score that day.

You probably right though. Just remember it being cold n wet and no one there. Block A was away fans then I think cos I was in grandstand below them

Cardiff V Wrexham Welsh cup final in the vetch, 1988? Alan Curtis scored a pearler we won 2-0 or 2-1 i think and outside it was utter chaos my two mates who i went with have never been to another game since!! I seem to remember some nutter wearing a Millwall tour of duty t shirt with a bulldog with a flick knife on it trying to climb into the swansea section!!

Well mine was 27th february 1993 we drew with Crewe 1-1 chris pike missed a pen, think phil stant scored the goal for us in front of a massive 7000, it was awesome

Sporting Lisbon cup winners cup 1964, we won the away leg 2-1 and drew the home leg 0-0. Cant remember much of the game was busy listening to the crowd sitting on the wall at the front of the bob bank, (you were allowed to in those days) I was only 6! we went out in the quarter final to real zaragozza I think in the quarter final

mine was the fa cup tie v spurs in 1977,my dad took me too it and my brother .i was 7 and remember the game and still remember the pitch all lit up with the floodlights near the end of the game ,loved it and been hooked every since,have since taken my son whose 6 now and he loves it to,took him to his first game when he was 4.i enjoy the good times we are having but i also miss the old lower league footie days small crowds etc cos thats when you have your dreams for your club that you never think will happen like seeing a full ninian after so many low crowds and dreaming of big cup ties and that you just wanted to beat some big scalps and go as far as you could in the competition,never thinking that one day "the city"would be at a cup final in my lifetime....SUPERB.....BLOOOOBIRDS!!

Home matches .. late 60s .... Away match was leicester city at filbert street 79/80 season we drew away 0-0 Think leicester were top of the league at the time

Dynamo tyblisi,did'nt go for a while then crystal palace at n.p,there was bad blood apparently from earlier matches,there was loads of city fans in their end.Fighting kept breaking out untill eventually they moved the Palace fans to the Canton stand.A heady mix of football and violence.I was hooked,eventually i grew up

City vs Swindon, Boxing Day 1970 1-1. My grandfather took me and I still have the match programme.

City v Ipswich FA Cup late 70s.
First match I think was Wrexham v Chester with my father. He also took me to see Liverpool v Plymouth. That must have been pre 1964 when Liverpool were in the old 2nd Division.

First football game was Wales v Czecoslavakia at ninian park 1980 Gilo got the winner!
First league game was Jacks v Southampton 1981 Thankfully didnt get the bug!
First City game was Ebbw Vale v Cardiff City 1992 Welsh Cup. Got the bug!

Think it was bournemouth home in the league cup in 1993. Not 100% sure though.
