So you think Williams an English should be?

Williams turns up for every game even when carrying an injury unlike some. He is committed to the cause so why not?

He has also been captain of a Premier League side for the last year and a bit so is surely the most qualified in the squad to take the armband?

No he is English

I disagree that it should mean he should not be captain purely because he is English. It should be the best man for the job.

So you'd give it to a poorly performing Englishman instead?

Are you Coleman in disguise?

Couldn't disagree more.
Welsh captain is a privileged position for a proud Welshman.

Williams is proud to represent Wales. The fact that he was not born in the country (something he had no control over) should have no relevance.

I may go purely so I can sing Coleman out when the jocks are thumping us!

Re: ' RAMSEY SACKED AS WALES CAPTAIN '

Coleman can f*ck off.. He's digging himself a big hole the shit as f*ck jack c**t..

Re: ' RAMSEY SACKED AS WALES CAPTAIN '

Thu Oct 04, 2012 9:53 pm

100% disagree.
I can just about let it go having a Englishman in the team if they are proud to play for us but never ever ever a captain
Why not make Bale or Allen captain if he who cant manage don't want Ramsey.

Re: ' RAMSEY SACKED AS WALES CAPTAIN '

I'm pretty sure Williams captained Wales under Speed at one point.

So what if he's proud?

The fact that he was not born in the country is EXACTLY why he shouldn't represent the country! It's international football - not club football.

Captain MUST be from that country!

Disgusting.

Rambo should call it a day until Coleman is sacked.

Won't be long til Coleman and Hartson hav us back at 110 in the rankings.

A useless English c**t as captain of OUR national team? What a joke.

there is no question scotland will beat us, they will have a huge following, they are well up for it and are looking for revenge over us for the last few defeats we have handed them...

we are currently a laughing stock, an fa who are full of dinosaurs and stuck in the old days, a manager and his staff who are tactically useless... and a team of players who look disintersted in playing...

i predict a 2 or 3 nil loss to scotland and then even though this campaign will be well and truly over, i believe coleman will finally be given the boot.

Re: ' RAMSEY SACKED AS WALES CAPTAIN '

Thu Oct 04, 2012 10:14 pm

Was a terrific captain under Speed and played some of his best football for Wales. Any bad form has been because Wales have gone badly downhill under Coleman.

Ramsey was a sensible choice as he is the centre of this Wales team the next ten years, either him or Bale would have been good choices.

Re: ' RAMSEY SACKED AS WALES CAPTAIN '

Thu Oct 04, 2012 10:18 pm

I love how the Swansea fan is claiming that Ramsey has been below par - Williams has been awful recently and you want to hand him the captaincy - talk about double standards?!

Plus, he's English!

Re: ' RAMSEY SACKED AS WALES CAPTAIN '

Since when has the captain had to be the best player you dullards!?

Yeah let's give the captaincy to Gareth bale, possibly the quietest timid footballer on the planet... He can do step overs though.

Ffs the chip you guys have on your shoulders regarding the jacks is embarrassing, it was clear to see as soon as he got the job. Some of you would rather Damon searle as manager, andy legg as captain and Danny gabbidon as coach.... Regardless of results.

It's Wales not Cardiff. Grow up and support the side or go and support England.

Which is why captain should be a WELSHMAN not an Englishman.

I'd have no problem if captain was a Welsh Swansea player.

f**k off you clown........... ramsey is a key player in the middle for wales with another 10 yrs to go, he also did well under speed..
why not give it to allen then and use him to do the same thing and build for the future... appointing ashley williams is the wrong answer.. he could easily have given it to james collins, or david vaughan, dave edwards...

the fact that coleman and co. are stern swansea fans shows they favour the under performing english born swansea player.

after we get beat by scotland and the campaign evaporates lets see how pleased you are then with your national failure of a coach and his new captain...

Fine choice as captain. If he's welsh enough to play for us he's welsh enough to captain us. Simple.

A captain should be welsh IMO - no doubt.
Really he shouldn't be in the squad your right but the job of captain of any country surely has to be from that country? That's has to be a minimal requirement then it's the best man for the job.

Ramsey should never have been captain in the first place anyway. Have you seen his interviews and press conferences? Jesus Christ, he's shyer than a 5-year-old!

He hasn't been in the most sparkling of form anyhow.

Absolute tripe.

If he's in the welsh team then he's as welsh as everyone else. Do you honestly think when he tells the defensive line to move up they think "if he was welsh I would, but coz he's English I ain't gonna bother"

Who cares what hes like in front of the cameras its all about what he says in the dressing room and on the field. Anyway hes starting to get back into form and playing well for Arsenal more than Williams is for Swansea. If you were going to give it to a senior player I would have giving it back to Bellers if he was fit or to another senior Welsh player. I agree that it shouldnt been an englisman just a matter of principal plus the fact I bet if you asked him would you rather be Welsh not English I know how he would answer

The superb victory at Queens Park Rangers, which elevated West Ham to seventh in the Premier League, prompted praise for the likes of Kevin Nolan, Mark Noble and goalscorers Matt Jarvis and Ricardo Vaz Te. But my man of the match and, indeed, my signing of the season so far was James Collins"

Of course it is. A captain is pretty much the on field manager in terms of conveying his managers wishes to the players and being a leader.

It isn't school in which the captain is the best player. A centre back is always a good choice for captain as they are vocal by nature and are in constant contact with the midfielders with a great view as all the play is in front of him. A very high percentage of captains are centre backs.

In that case. Williams is the best choice.
