I really dont get this?
He has been given a specific job by Mackay. One Malky knows perfectly. Why? Cos
Malky was a top flight Centre-Half himself. He KNOWS how to niggle CBs and get
under their skin, and drag them out of position, because he was one. Helguson is
grafting to take CBs away from the middle of the 18yd box.
We have won 6 out of 9
... and have scored TWO goals in both of the games we lost
there's nothing wrong at that end of the pitch. Malkys plan is working well.

Hes still shit in my eyes, like a worse version of gavin gordan if you ask me, oh yea he could hold the ball up to and thats about it

I want velikonja to be given a chance even if its from the bench but to suggest Helguson is not good enough is nonsense, he works hard for the team and creates chances for others

I disagree the thing is why did we spend 3.5million if we never going to play etien and kimbo only for cowie to play out wide instead of four other REAL wingers or etien to sit in the stands or bench warm, makes no sence, all helguson does it lay it off, ive seen nothing else from him like a striker is supposed to do
Fri Oct 05, 2012 10:52 am
the longer the season goes on, the more i think Kimbo was a "boardroom" signing, perhaps Malky doesnt see much in him i dunno?
with etien, ive seen him play briefly and he did look good, but you cant really tell anything from a friendly.

Like you, I'd love to see what Velikonja has to offer. But we have won 6 from 9, we are top
of the league, we are scoring goals for fun. its working. If its not broke dont fix it.

If he was really doing that bad, im pretty sure malky would of replaced him by now, malky knows his players, not you !.....in my opinion hes being strong and opening up gaps for our midfield who are all capable of slammin the ball in the net !... Hes deffo working well in my eyes...

Sat Oct 06, 2012 6:27 pm
I thought give him a blow, and he scored, thats why I'm in the house and not a manager

There is so much rubbish in this thread it's unreal! At least Taffyapple is one of very few on here who actually understands the game! I hope Helguson continually scores now, he is a massive asset to us, even if he doesn't score. Peter Beagrie is bang on right now.

Aye apart from hitting our own crossbar in injury time, nearly shat meself as had a few five pound bets on 2-1 on the live betting thing. I'm now getting used to MM's tactics, its all about patience, paid off tonight. Think this may be the season Paul.
I'm not going to Croatia Corky, work stuff so can't do it. Fecking pissing down again with some quite spectacular thunderstorms here in Turkey, at least I think it'd thunder and lightening lol

he will have games where he does,nt score.maybe a run of 3 or 4 games .h.h will still offer ccfc a lot .if the balls humped up he can keep it for you,buy the midfield time to get up to him.players play off him,the knock downs etc.isn,t this what you were missing last season?good player

He scored to sitters and people think hes ronaldo now
Sat Oct 06, 2012 6:53 pm

This is exactly what we missed last season. Helguson is magnificent at receiving the ball and not giving it away and his leap is incredible. I've said it before and I will say it again, people slating Helguson have no clue about football, the majority of them are probably the same ones who slagged off Kenny Miller last season. They judge strikers solely on goals instead of what they offer to the team as a whole. Kenny Miller ran his guts out for us as a lone striker and couldn't score as often as people expected because he was dropping deep, linking the play, running the channels, doing all the unselfish work he had to do as a lone striker to get us into a good attacking position. This is exactly what Helguson is doing for us this season.

I think we can all agree on one things.
Miller would have missed both of those

Football is a weird game at times, earlier he was 1 goal in 9 games and now he's 3 goals in 10 and our second top goal scorer. Not bad for player who has divided opinions.
