I simply don't agree its a target man we need,if we went down that road,it would only encourage our manager, certain players in our team to go long,to play hoofball, completely and literally going over the heads of a very talented midfield, but i agree Mackay needs to act quickly to bring in a like for like replacement for Maynard

Re: " We have the money, so we must act now "

The only reason we were given money for Maynard and Noone is because Bellamy almost left and the club panicked. I think he will make do with what we have. Etien and Mason will be our front two by Jan.

Re: " We have the money, so we must act now "

kenwynne jones or Fraser Campbell on loan

I thought the whole point of investing in a large squad was to avoid having to take whatever is available on short term loans :?

Upfront we still have Helguson, Mason, Bellamy, Velikonja, Gestede and Kimbo who can play just behind the striker. The situation regarding a "targetman" hasn't changed with the injury to Maynard.

I am absolutely gutted that Maynard is injured as I thought he was something special, a bit like Chopra in his pomp :( However, the fact that Malky has bought so wisely means that the only area where we can't really afford injuries is at the back.

Now, if the current crop of forwards fail us in the next couple of months maybe we will have to go for a loan but I really don't see the urgency at the moment :ayatollah:

Mason got into double figures in his first season.

Agree with the replacement for NM,,,,but i got a feeling our club might wait until the January transfer window opens.

Keinan has gone to Maccabi Haifa on a season long loan;

Strange our club hasn't put out a statement although MM has confirmed it this morning.

The club has now confirmed that Dekel Keinan has left by "Mutual Consent" so he has been released and won't be returning.

no .i,d agree with you.ok i don,t support ccfc but from the outside looking in whilst it,s a blow about n,m you are not short for options .some have been mentioned on other posts. away from home if you go 451 then you can use a 3man c/m with j.m a g and whitts behind the main forward.there are a few teams who,s season could hinge on a player like n,m playing or not playing.ccfc have a problem to decide if it should be c.b ,kim bo or mason to replace him :!: .i think they call these high class problems to have .shame about n.m though.seems a decent lad

?

£30k + a week. How did you calculate that?

Keith,

Earnie was on £15,00O-£20,000 a week and Keinan was on approx £13,000 a week.

Agree with this, we lose Maynard and we are crying out for a target man?

We played most of last season without one and got close, now we have so much more creativity, gutted about Maynard but we have Bellamy, Mason & Eti who can play alongside Helguson at home and don't forget Maynard played alone in a 4-5-1 on Tuesday and he's certainly no target man, so I believe we have options.

Mason & Velikonja will be jumping at the chance after watching last 3 games & probably thinking their chances of playing were limited, Mason was excellent last season, now he's a year older & wiser and having had a while on the training pitch with Bellamy I reckon he could well be the answer....cut him loose :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Agree with this, we have a SQUAD for a reason, let's use it.

If we need a replacement for Maynard (which we don't seeing as we have Bellamy, Mason and Velikonja who can play in his place), then why would the replacement be a target man? :? Helguson was the target man in the partnership with Maynard, not Nicky.

So if we have the money why don't we use it to pay down the huge debt or are we all ok with the debt now?

I cant answer the first part of the question Alex, but the second part, were def not ok, the debt is rising weekly.

Agree, bringing a striker on loan until Nicky returns would be a wise move, and 2 of the names mentioned Kenwyne Jones or Frasier Campbell would be really good loan signings if it were possible.

I guess since the owners have gone "all in" we will see the money spent if Malky wants to.

Re: " We have the money, so we must act now "

Fri Sep 21, 2012 5:50 pm

We have 6 strikers and don't need to bring in anyone.
How is Malky going to build confidence amongst his squad if a player gets injured they are replaced by a loanee?
Give the squad a chance to develop.
Malky knows he has cover throughout the team.

I'd like to see Jason Roberts on loan , we need another striker as we lack experience upfront other than helguson

A young defender on a season loan and a striker on 3 month loan would be ideal. :ayatollah:

Totally agree with you. Give it a month and if the players we have dont step up to mark bring in someone. I think the likes of EV and Mason would feel pissed off if not given chance to prove themselves and team spirit could be compromised if new player brought in before current players are given chance.

You have to go with what we have which is very good. Loan jan get Jerome back.

Despite what those jokers at the club said, Earnie is til January initially.

Bellers is the big hope up front. :ayatollah:

I'd be hugely dissapointed if we loaned someone in if I'm honest.

Mason is to good a player to be ignored. If he isn't going to be given a chance now then sell him.
Bellamy, Mason, Helguson are three very good options and MM paid over 1m for Etien. Them we have smith as well as an option.

I don't think mason's good enough.

It'll be Bellars with Kim or Cowie wide, and when bellars ain't fit it 'll be Helguson on his todd.

Velikonja's a 1 million pound bust. Pretty comfortable saying that already.

I've seen nothing to suggest Mason isn't good enough at all.
Etien time will tell but no reason to write him off.

Other options Bellamy, Helguson, Smith.

Certainly not short of options

God your an optomist  So mason isnt good enough when he scored 12 goals last season first time in championship at the age of 20  And etien has played 1 match as a sub and hes a flop right... Malky is giving him and Kimbo time to adjust to championship.
