the corners seem to be left open in most modern grounds lately. I dont know why. They want simple access to the field but surely 2 corners would be enough. A proper atmosphere killer.
Could it have something to do with idiots standing behind and abusing the players when taking corners?

We would fill 35,000 in the prem easily, the guest fan block would surely nearly always be full. You cant really blame people for not wanting to pay 20+pounds to see Doncaster but paying it to see Chelsea. It is alot of money afterall.

Everything that has been built (or will be built) around the ground formed part of the masterplan approved by the council. The hotel was ALWAYS going to be built.

Whilst the original simple structure of the stadium was altered to cut costs, 60k remains achievable but would involve additional enabling works. Very little is impossible when it comes to construction. Ive always laughed at the people who proclaimed that Jacks could never expand Liberty due to 'foundations'.

The original idea for CCS was a 'flat pack' stadium which could be taken apart and expanded with ease, ironically like Lego, to quickly be expanded to cope with any increase in demand. This remains true for up to 35,000 (ish). The stadium can still go beyond this but the structure of the stadium would need to be altered, similar to what they've done at Old Trafford. The talk about space for exits etc is quite simply bollox. The space around CCS is more than adaquate for an 60,000 capacity stadium.

The present construction with the existing roof level allows for increasing capacity by app 16.000. The first phase would allow
for increasing the Ninian Park stand by app. 8000 and could be completed easily within the close season. (as Brighton did this
summer over just 8 weeks) the 2nd phase would be a similar process behind each goal adding a further 4000 each end.= a total capacity without raising the roof to a grand 42-43.000. any further increase would need a much more expensive conversion involving a re design. The Liberty is a much different proposition as the roof level will not allow for a second tier and would need a major re-design to increase by 10.000 a huge cost in proportion to the initial build cost of 24million.
In both cases the expansions would be appropriate to both clubs should they be Premier long term, 60.000 for Cardiff would in my view be out of the question as would 50.000 for Swansea, 35 and 45.000 would be about perfect subject to long term Premier status.

In my opinion, if we can get 45,000 and roughly fill it nearly every week that would be amazing.

That would be the size of Anfield and the media are always banging on about their atmosphere there.

if we could get 42,000 without raising the roof that would make for a tremendous atmosphere. Better than 60,000 in a ground with a higher roof. One day maybe.... :D
