I mean how dare people be ill, go on holiday, have to work on a Sunday or coach youth football teams on a Sunday afternoon etc.

Let's hope the club act quickly and eradicate this fan type.

There are so many empty seats EVERY game in the Family Stand, it's all down to the under 9 free season tickets. This sort of thing doesn't happen at any other club.

Thought it looked quite busy for once yesterday but as others have said there were empty seats in the canton and grangend

yes but whats point of family stand when so many people dont use it regularly! as just said how can you have 2 rows seats (40) aprox, en block empty??? and they say its fully booked????

It is madness. Surely the club can check how often they are being used though?

The Family Stand is sold out. Whatever fans want to do with their ST is their business.

It is not an issue until we sell the rest of the ground out.

I think you've missed the point Wayne. For families it's cheaper in that end. People can't afford to pay £15 per child in the rest of the ground.

It's very disappointing because there are lots of kids (our future)
missing out because of this (with lots of empty seats in fam stand). There shouldn't be season tickets for u9's. Games are on sale weeks before so die hards will be garanteed tickets. Or they could also sell cheap u9 tickets all over the ground.

Something has to change

yes they can check, and i believe they are looking at it as it is lost revenue in shop drinks ect

While I agree that it would look better to not have empty seats in one place, I chose my seat deliberately to be behind the goal and that of my two boys too. We turn up for every single game, so why should we move? If I had to go to the Ninian or Canton, it would probably be out of my price range for three season tickets. My kids are fanatical about the bluebirds, as are many of their mates who also attend every game. These kids will almost certainly spend a fortune on the club over the years, so us taking initial advantage of the free under 9 ticket has almost certainly benefited the club long term. Now how about some answers regarding the empty seats in the other stands - or is that OK because they were for general sale but weren't sold. The Canton yesterday had both side blocks almost empty looking from where we were sat, so who exactly is it that is so depserate to go to a game that they couldn't have bought seats there?

In fairness alot of clubs have seen a big dip in attendances. The recession is causing problems for families unfortunately.

Answer is if someone wants to go with their kids and the family end is full, they should be able to have same price ticket somewhere else. This kind of happend to me once as I am ST in family end, 2 adults and 4 kids, and Palace took my seats for league cup semi so offered family end prices elsewhere

Thats by far the most sensible solution. We had to move for Palace too, but I didn't think much of the view I had from the Grandstand as I like to be behind the goals.

Annis can someone suggest this to the club. I think we would have had and extra 2k in the ground yesterday if this was the case. Could have also sold more food, drinks, shirts etc...

Re: The Family Stand

Mon Sep 03, 2012 9:36 pm

So why can't a family that aren't attending ring the club (or the club make that one of its rules for the family stand) and tell them they aren't able to attend and to authorise selling the seats on to any enquiring families?

Re: The Family Stand

Mon Sep 03, 2012 9:49 pm

I could not sit with my son and grandson Sunday because it was sold out. When I looked across from the Ninian stand I was gobsmacked. Probably a few hundred empty seats. I cannot believe all s/t holders were ill or on holiday considering most kids were back at school today !!

In a perfect world yes but that will never happen. We would also like to stop littering and people to turn the tap off in the toilets.(we've all seen this) I think the club need to address the ticketing problem quick. They are losing money.

Re: The Family Stand

The 2 corners on the Canton is always empty! Both ends look shit on TV! I sit in the grandstand and it does frustrate me that ST holders dont turn up.

As i said before there is a family overflow area in the corner if the ninian & canton,, same prices as the family stand..

Re: The Family Stand

Tue Sep 04, 2012 9:19 am

The only way to do it would be either to set an area in the family stand as "pay on the day only" or to limit the number of season tickets available for the family stand so there are tickets available on match days ?

Re: The Family Stand

Tue Sep 04, 2012 10:18 am

I agree with some of the posts above and accept that SOME people don't turn up as regularly as they should but to say that it's all the Under 9's is a bit unfair. My son is not 6 yet and unless we've been abroad on holidays, he hasn't missed a home game since the Chasetown friendly that opened the stadium

Sunday was an awkward one cos a lot of kids / teenagers play football themselves on a Sunday afternoon so it was always going to affect the crowd. There were plenty of empty areas everywhere on Sunday to be fair.

The club are missing extra revenue here and it's something that could be easily solved if they would just set up a system which allows people to inform them in advance if they are going to attend or not, can't be too difficult to manage surely. I know when I'm going on holidays so I can always make my seats available.

COME ON CCFC SORT IT OUT, YOU'RE LOSING MONEY

Re: The Family Stand

Tue Sep 04, 2012 6:15 pm

Im not a season ticket holder as I cant get to every game but I and my two children have been able to get tickets for the Huddersfield and Wolves matches in the Family Stand, although when I picked up the tickets last Friday I was told they were not in the Family Stand but were the same price. When we got to our seats they were in row D to the right of the goal, (we were glad it stayed dry). Being so close to the center of the stand I would have assumed this was part of the Family Stand :?:

How come this is not advertised? Can you get them online?

A school holiday,
Sunday afternoon .

The club needs to address this.

Yes, it was a Sunday afternoon - people still don't automatically think of football on a Sunday.

Many people with kids would have been sorting them out for the back to school week.

Some would still have been on holiday.

If people buy season tickets seats, then they are quite entitled to leave them empty - I can't see anyway around this, unless they are allowed to sell them on, as happens in America (Have you ever seen how "Stubhub" works for baseball, NFL and NBA ?) Basically, if you can't attend a game you can sell your season ticket to someone else for the day, as long as you sell it through an appropriate agent.

We're a bit behind the times here with this in the UK.

Re: The Family Stand

they almost give away the tickets for like £50-80 for kids, so its not as if they lose out massively if they dont go...

yes i was wondering the same thing guys...... its an embarassment to have so many empty seats....

But what about the families that can't go because they can't afford tickets in the rest of the ground. They miss out on the fans coming to games spending money and buying shirts. Lots of potential money lost as family stand tickets are always sold out

Re: The Family Stand

I never bought a ST last season (wasn't sure if it was a fad for the kids) but after missing the first 3 games due to being sold out on the internet I phoned the club to moan, and was told there were overflow tickets, after this day I never missed a game and paid the same price as I would have done....
Phone the ticket office. Or buy them in advance at the ground a few games in advance and miss the admin charge.

Sorry i did miss a game............... bloody WEMBLEY couldn't get tickets

Cheers for the info mate. The club should advertise this. You cant get them online.

Will pass on the info.

Re: The Family Stand

Leon, they wont advertise it mate, as they would be leaving themselves open to a can of worms.

They have offered people family stand price tickets in the Grandstand, meaning that an Adult is getting
a cheaper ticket than someone else who has paid Grandstand Price for the same seats.

Cheers

Shame they can't get all the kids together with all them empty seats in the family stand but I don't know what more can be done.

At least they are trying. Maybe they could keep a few thousand free for match day sales. I am also hoping they ban people who miss more than 6 games. People take the mik.
