I'm an Ebbw Vale boy originally, remember hearing about the Tred v Ebbw fights up by The Aneurin Bevan standing stones in the 70's.
Got engaged to 2 Tredegar girls before I met my wife, lived and worked there for a few years. Great bunch of people, always up for a laugh, love their booze which suited me! Used to drink in The Cam, the old county, and the TA, they always felt t a little more closer knit than Ebbw.
Once delivered a telly to a house in Cefn Golau in the height of a hot summer (remember them?) went in and almost got knocked out by the smell and had to dodge the flies, in the front room the Xmas tree and trimmings were still up and were so grubby and old, they had obviously NEVER been taken down! :?
