I think you underplayed that a bit. He is better than just decent. But £15million for fee and salary should see a decent replacement.

The term clutching at staws comes to mind for this response. You could quite possibly be the most deluded Cardiff fan on here. You keep telling yourself your the bigger club, well done for getting to a cup final and losing in front of millions of people. While all this was going on we were taking the Premier League by storm, getting rave reviews from players, managers and supporters on our style of play and beating some of the best teams in the country in front of millions of people watching on TV whilst securing over £50 million in TV money to go with it.

The only slight crumb of comfort you can cling onto is the crowds, well if we stay up this season that will be blown well and truly out of the water with the planned expansion. So get your prayer mats our and getting on your knees and ask for some divine intervention because if we secure another 60 million in funding on top of the 100 million we have had for last season and this one then you lot will be an irellevant little club who used to play in blue. Err, you didn't get 100m last season. That's the figure you would get over 4 years if you were relegated plus your first season in the prem. then again keep making figures up if it makes you feel all superior ;)

I see him week in week out fella. He's decent at PL level,no more.Has the potential to become a very good player but at this moment he's just a decent PL player.

Judging by Liverpools spending and thinking of Jordan Henderson Swansea should hold out for 20 mill

i dont think there are many swansea fans who think joe's worth 15 mil

very good player tho, a lot more dynamic than most people on here seem to realise.

him and ramsey will be excellent for wales in the future, and they're both clearly a lot more commited to the cause than giggsy!

Yes striker and a decent keeper and our first XI is quality on paper

Problem we got is those clowns in charge

I'd say we're fine in the keeper department with Hennesey. I'm more worried about holding midielder and the future of the right wing. As well as a striker of course.

Re: Joe Allen

Sun Aug 05, 2012 11:47 am

Surely Allen is the holding midfielder? An AM maybe?

Re: Joe Allen

Sun Aug 05, 2012 11:52 am

Hennessy is rubbish imo. Always dropping clangers.

Our midfield 3 of Allen, Rambo and Ledley with Bale and Bellars out wide is quality.

The thing is Bellamy obly has a few more years at most in him. On the off chance we managed to qualify for the world cup we would probably be without him.

The thing is, the prices reflect potential. Is Neymar worth £50m+ now? Realistically no. I'd say he's worth around £25m on talent but when you look at how good he could become then the super inflated price becomes realistic. If he signs for say, Barca, for £50m and they pay him say £4m per year (it will be more), if they turn him into a class player and get 7 good years of football out of him thats basically £10m investment per season (transfer fee + wages over 7 years) in him. If they win the CL etc and so on with him then it'll be an astonishing return.

I think Liverpool's investments were dumb. Its good to buy potential but to nurture class potential you need experienced class in the side too to keep the club up and thereabouts. To sign someone like Carroll when they could have splashed money on someone with more pedigree and who just did the business seemed dumb to me and why he'll go out on loan.

For me its different with Allen, he will have the likes of Gerrard and Lucas, who in my eyes are both great players at what they do. £15m for Allen for me is good business by Brendan and so was the signing of Borini who I rate higher than Carroll.

I will admit it, I hated Rodgers so much at Swansea and it wasn't because I genuinely disliked him, it was because he could spot a bargain in the market and he knew how to turn them into a good player who fitted his system. He knew how to turn a £1m talent into a £10m+ talent.

Stop biting lads, sadly the jacks are in a higher league, until they get relegated or we join them then we just have to let them have there moment in the sun. But football is a fickle mistress and things changes very fast, so it won't be long until we are prem and jacks are championship, but until then just suck it up and get behind our own team

Will watching Liverpool on Match Of The Day next season be like "watching paint dry" as was famously quoted about swansea last season ?

Do jacks have any bitterness towards brenda for trying his hand at a bigger club (especially now borini there , allen maybe there , williams a rumoured target) ?

Try more like 2 minutes, he's had the odd moment of weakness though and rash tackle like against McGugan but has got away with a couple of awful tackles.

Good full back, but worst case scenario we'll get an inflated price of £8-10 million for a player we bought for £30k two seasons ago and will just replace him on the continent.

At the moment though there's nothing concrete with Taylor, and as it stands it's just paper talk at the moment.

I think you have clearly been on the glue. Taking Premier League by Storm!!!!! Finishing mid table is not taking a league by storm. Millions on TV-most people switch match of the day off before the last game which you were on several occasions on the rare times i bothered to watch it. Yes you did well but so did Norwich yet their fans dont crow on about taking the league by storm.

You are deluded re finance and stadium. The EPL promotion is worth £90 mill over 4 years not 100 mill plus 60 a season. You dont own your ground and last i heard macdonalds were holding up the council house extension.

£47m just in tv/prize money last year. Guaranteed at least £40m this year and if we stay up the minimum payment for 2013/14 season is £64m.

Youth academy building progressing well and due to be complete by September. Deal signed for new training ground and plans submitted for 11k extension to the stadium which will get the green light if we look like we're staying up around the new year.
