I'd rather Gestede didn't play anyway

Nicky Maynard would be a great signing, don't care that he's an ex Bristol City player, he's quality at this level and he'd score loads for us. We've got competition from Leeds mind.

If we sign Bellars and Maynard, we'll be real contenders for promotion.

I would be very happy with Maynard. 45 goals in 124 appearances in the Championship for a not very good Bristol City side is pretty decent. We would still need a proper centre forward, though, especially as it looks as if Rudi - regardless of whether he is good enough- is never going to be fit.

what do u mean by a proper centre forward?? do you mean a target man, hold up play etc. ?

maynard is a decent striker at this level... cant believe the criticism.. i know hes not a marque signing but def has a quality goal scorer... scored a lot of goals in a shit bristol city side... with quality players around him he will def get goals...

with regards to gestade, i would look to loan another striker in, def someone who is a target man and would loan rudy out to a league 1 team until jan...

His name has been out there for a while but now the wheels are in motion I'll pass on what I was told. Also we're in talks with a premier league club over a loan deal for a defender. The Kim-Bo Kyung deal is still very much on but the constant delay in the overseas paperwork is frustrating for all. The same goes for CB39 which is still ongoing. The majority of our support need some positive news ASAP and i'm sure it's just around the corner, but a couple of obstacles to hurdle yet( Shocking Olympic sized analogy

I mean someone comfortable playing with their back to goal, able to receive the ball under pressure , control it and bring others in to the play.If he is good in the air, gets on the end of crosses and is able to score 20 goals in the season so much the better. You could call that a target man but to me that phrase suggests a big lump you just bang the ball up to in the air and hope for the best (Rudi?). I think we need better than that. Jay Bothroyd without the personality defects would be perfect!

Just got a feeling Super Kev will be the player to make way.....for this new potential defender to come in. Hate loan deals, especially when they play really well, we dont have a chance is signing them later on....and you would lose the player who had to sit on the stands because of it.

hes def going to be surplus at west ham, atleast 3rd or 4th choice... i believe they only bought him to stop other champ teams from getting him...

IF I remember - Maynard had bonuses if WHU went up,or would get a pay raise to his contract.
