A game of bluff for the last two years hopefully coming to an end. I wish
Sam well. End of the day, he was the spark that got this Club moving.
But enough is enough now. I think the forensic accounting never took place.
Maybe had it gone to a full court case, but either way... take the £9m
Sam... and Good Luck for the future!!!!

Perhaps the forensic accounting (if there was any), discovered enough for Sam to be prepared to accept £10 million, when according to posters more in the know than myself, have said that he is already overdue £24 million plus interest! :ayatollah:

There was a promotion bonus included in the deal signed in December 2009, which gave VT the option of settling the Langston deal for £10m before the 31/12/10 (which was never taken up).

From what I remember it was £5m for the first promotion and another £5m if City stayed up. Langston even got £5m if we were relegated and then promoted again!

I have no idea if these are the terms they are still seeking, but if they are it more or less doubles the orginal £10m provided we get promoted and stay there.

Funny enough Vincent Tan was heard saying exactly the same ;)

Annis, you said when I posted last week that Tan was moving the goal posts stating that a deal had originally been agreed by Langston and Tan that went as far as the solicitors. I have checked this with the club and there was never anything in writing from Langston. Sam publically said that Langston would accept £10 million now they have told the club they want £15 million. Clearly Langston are now moving the goalposts and it also appears that they do not like putting things in writing either.

Yes, you are spot on with Tan moving the goal posts as you say now offering £9 million at least this is a positive moving of the goal posts.

With regards to earlier posts about the late completion of the signing of players and one poster asking if Langston was delaing transfers the fact of the matter is that the settling of the debt is the reason behind thelack of signings. The club have advised me that originally £7 million was set aside for season for settling the debt this was increased to £8 million. This is all that has been allowed this season therefore if the debt is to be settled this season Sam originally said by the end of July then anything above £8 million will have to be taken from Malky's budget. This is fact.

It's time that Sam/langston now moved the goalposts in a positive direction and back it up in writing. If Sam really cares about the club and dislikes the loss of the club's heritage why don't they accept £9 or 9.5 million and insist on the heritage being reinstated next year!!!!!

P.s hope they stop moving the goal posts before the season starts, Miller's having enough problem hitting the target as it is. Lol

Langston are holding out for £10mill and a bonus if City go up to the Premier league in exchange for the debt of millions wiped out, interest in millions wiped out and the naming rights worth millions being given over to Tan.

It also means the so called forensic accountants found nothing.

Hmm
Any thoughts on the out come ?

Were only half way through July interesting month ahead.

Not sure it meant the forensics didn't find anything. My gut feeling is that this won't be resolved until either of the following are imminent :
1. City on the brink of administration - Langston will settle for £10m
2. City looking like they're going up - Langston will stick out for the lot.

I thought it was 10million, no strings attached? The sooner the Langston debt is concluded the better!

When you say "so called" forensic accountants do you mean they weren't good enough to find anything?

Get the Langston debt paid off then lets see Mr Tan put his money where his mouth is ...... he's also got his red image re-branding too so nothing to hold him back then surely ?? :ayatollah: ;) :ayatollah:

Even though its annoying, i kind sort of see Tans stance, if he just offered Sam £10m straight away then who is to say Sam wont think "well, that was easy, ill push for £12m" same goes the other way, if Sam agreed to £8m straight away who is to say Tan wont turn around and say "that was easy, ill try and get him to agree to £6m"

You keeping doubting the forensic accountants but I wouldn't mind them having a crack at my missus credit card bills if they can wipe 14m plus interest off a so called 24m water tight loan note

It was always in the deal the promotion Bonus, even before the Riddler days.

I just want this sorted once and for all and City to move on and clear all our debts. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Annis, as you say the £5million promotion bonus has been part of every negotiation and contract since Langston loan note 2, it seems the media has gone with the headline figure of £10million and left out the promotion bonus element, which I know you understand has always been a part of any deal.

£9million with no promotion bonus? Falls short of Langston's asking price, maybe I have answered my own question.

I am led to believe that a deal will be done by the end of the month though.

In fairness all we have heard for ages is Langston will gone be gone for £10m one off payment.
Never any mention of any promotion fee.

I always felt 9m would be the agreement as inbetween both amounts and saves both egos.
The new promotion bonus scuppers that?

Makes Tans 8m offer even more generous if we assume it included a further 5m bonus? That would be 3m over what was kept aside.
