2nd Battalion The Royal Welsh disbanded!!

I suspect that the 1st will actually go.

They are in Afghan now - so politically insensitive to bin them.

The 2nd are mech infantry which Whitehall will want to keep.

I fancy the 1st will go, ant the 2nd will become the first. Hence the technically correct announcement today that the 2nd are going......

Sad day.

The reason that RRW 24th Foot became 2nd Royal Welsh was because RWF was 23rd Foot therefore they were the senior Regiment ,although with this lot in government what does that matter

The name Fusilier was dropped, but the flash and hackle was kept. The cap badge was kept from RRW though. The regiment effectively became 23/24/41st of foot.

I do not want any regiment to go - but how many Ghurka Regiments are left?
