I agree. Like I said I ent going to against them but I respect their views. When this first came out, I was going to turn my back but just thinking hes the man in charge he calls the shots. Our views wont change it sadly. :ayatollah:

He's a good man who's been put in a real awkward position, and however he deals with it, some people are going to be narked, it ain't his call, just his job to manage it the best way he can, give the man a chance and let's see how it pans out. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Yea I agree he is in an awkward position and he is the man who has to deal with the aftermath of Tans decision.By the looks of things he is doing a good job of fair play.

Alan whitely is a city fan and solicitor at the end of the day. I've defended him for a number of years, people say he was an egg chaser and part of pmg (not true) but he is a good guy and doing a good job considering its not his job.

I have respect for Whitley and the fans for standing their ground. Even through I'm not a season ticket holder you wont see me entering the ground while they are wearing red.

Personally I think everyone realises that in the context of numbers the club will probably not miss you but people have sold their soul over this and its not the same club which I fell in love with. Also a big factor is the utter comtempt the board has treated the fans during this issue. Even to the point of doing a photoshoot of the new kit before the end of last season.

That is my own belief and my own personal choice. For me the pub will be getting 90 more mins of my custom :ayatollah:

Re: Fair play to Alan Whitley our Chief Executive

It all seems to be a matter of perception.
Some see the club going forward, others see the history ripped out and $**t on, and it upsets them.

The whole re-branding issue is what you make of it, yes you are still supporting the city of Cardiff, Malky and the boys, but it is also a massive change. I believe Whitley has been as open and honest as he could have been, he has to protect the club aswell as the fans around it, but ultimately nobody can be blamed for taking the scheme on board, and likewise, requesting a refund.

Time will tell how this will pan out, we will either be a better club for it, or end up in a heap of trouble. Its a wait and see game now

Gwyn, I read another thread that he only supported Merthyr as a child and started going to watch City when was a teenager and didnt have to answer to his parents.

Utter bollox. He forgets ive known him for some 25 years. The truth is he met some City ladswhen he went travelling to Oz around 2000 and then when he got home started going to a few games. He only become a City regular around the time of the 2008 FA Cup final. And that is all the FACTS there.

rubbish Polo, what i said was do people say they have supported the club since their first game or since they started going regularly..? in Gwyns case is played rugby for a number of years yet he still says he was going for the last 30+ years so if that is the case in i have supported them in '86!!! I know thats not the case and you are right I started supporting them regularly since 1999.

Adam, as much as I lover the banter with both you and Gwyn, then you are not even on the same planet as Gwyn when it comes to what he has done as a supporter, and for supporters, of this club. Even if he did play Rugby for a couple of years so what, I think hes more than paid his dues as a supporter.

I am not saying thats the case. The debate at the time was at what point do people say that have been supporting the club (a) their first ever game or (b) since they started watching the club regularly.

And for the record Gwyn played Rugby for more than 'a couple of years'.

Well its obviously B IMO. I went to watch my first City game in 84 when I was 7, but didnt go again until 92 when I started going home and away.

Also, its entirely different in your case, you were a staunch supporter of Merthyr well into adult life, then decided to just start supporting another club when City started to rise up the leagues, and Merthyr started to slide. Thats why people look upon you as a bit of a joking supporter to be honest. A plastic / glory hunter whatever you want to call it.

Take this as its meant, im not saying this to be nasty or get bites, but none of the Merthyr boys will ever look upon you as proper Cardiff. Everyone knows you are Merthyr. Thats why you throwing your toys out of the pram about anything Cardiff City just looks silly.

Thats your opinion and football is all about opinionsand I agree with you its obviously (B) but Gwyn and others doesn't see it like that. My point was excatly that a few weeks ago and my thinking hasn't changed since.

Things don't feel the same anymore?

The season hasn't even started yet so it's hard to get 'a feeling' for the change. If I'm honest it never felt the same on e we moved house, so why stop now. Top of league and all the worriers would have vanished and that is a fact! Just need the boys to do it on the pitch to prove it.

Why do you get pissed off? We only have 16,000 ST holders, they were all accomodated for. Or would you prefer we only took 16,000?

Well ask Annis, because he mailed me to tell me that just before the final you rang him in a panic asking for advice on how to get a ticket for the final, and in desperation you even took out an away travel membership, you told Annis you had only seen two home games that season, su either you or Annis is fibbing, and I can't see why Annis would need to lie about how many games you have seen, let's leave it to the electorate to make their minds up, coz you got such a good record with them.
