Technically your right, but in principle and reality your very wrong. England have it played before their games instead of Land of Hope and Glory which is a massive sign of disrespect to Cymru, Scotland and NI. Not to mention f*cking arrogant.

It is also a perfect example of why I am Welsh and not British. I don't care what my passport or any other legal document says because my heart says Welsh and surely that is the most important thing?

The way I see it I don't want Bellamy, Ramsey, Allen or Taylor in a Welsh shirt ever again. They have taken selfish actions and have endangered the footballing independence of a whole country. Platini and Blatter can give whatever reassurances they want about not losing our vote and not becoming a permanent GB team but every other day of the week you wouldn't trust them as far as you could throw them and nothing has changed in that regard.

The rest of the world don't see UK and don't hear GB all they understand is ENGLAND and they tar us all with the same stupid english propoganda brush.

I WOULD RATHER LOSE AS A WELSHMAN THAN WIN AS A 'BRIT'

That is your view. At the end of the day we are british and everyone has the right to represent Great Britian regardless. Even the I class myself Welsh first and formost I would be honoured to stand along side an englishman in representing the UK. Those players deserve to be representing the UK on such a large stage and its more SELFISH of anyone else trying to stop them. As for being a permenant GB team, why the f**k would england want to form a team with us??? There would be uproar from all the home nations so it would never happen.

And as for your egotistical nationalistic bollucks of rather losing as a welshman than win as a Brit is pathetic and is an insult to all proud welshman who represent the UK in any shape and form especially servicemen

I wouldn't include servicemen in any of what I said and It would only apply to sport really. It wouldn't effect England to have a permanent Team GB as they are by far the bigger nation with the stronger national team, FA, finances etc etc etc but it would allow them to cherry pick from our best players i.e Ryan Giggs 15/20 years ago. They wouldn't even lose their anthem before games and it would be played in the colours that they play in now.

The only nations in uproar would be the other 3 and clearly nobody gives a damn what we think because otherwise Team GB wouldn't have gone ahead due to the massive opposition from us and Scotland especially.

Of course everyone has the right to represent Britain and it is obviously a very personal thing which every individual feels differently about and I feel the FAW has made the right choice by letting the players choose for themselves. I can't help but feel that the players made the wrong choice but again that is my personal view on the matter.

My egotistical, nationalistic bollocks (it's a shame you see it that way) comes not from arrogance or hate but simply pride in who I am and pride in my nation.

do is fine by me.

But i cannot ever picture myself standing ramrod straight singing

I am glad they are doing it.
I hope they go all the way and win, so the likes of Giggs can have something to show for his efforts in international football.

May also help our welsh team to know what its like to be winners in a major competition and that feeling may become contagious.
We do not own these players and they have made a decision to play and we should respect that decision.

You are quite right when you refer to the ancient inhabitants of these islands as original britons. The word Britain derives from the Welsh Prydain from a time when an early form of welsh was spoken from Kent to Carlisle and from Lands End to Glasgow. Unforunately things changed, invasions by the Saxons and the Normans pushed the original britons westwards to form Wales, Cornwall and some over the sea to Brittany. Of course it didn't stop there they took our language, raped us of our resources and have obviously brainwashed most of the population according to most of the posts on here.
Put it another way, had Germany won the war would you be happy for our Welsh players to play yn an united Germany team?? I think not. :ayatollah:

This, I am for Team GB but want Wales to remain an independent footballing nation but the FAW are holding back the country when it comes to football in my opinion.

Also someone said about it's nice for Giggs to play in a tournament? What the olympics? It's hardly a major tournament when it comes to football and it's only the South Americans and Africans that actually care about it. What frustrates me is Giggs is happy to reject many Wales games for Fergie and even retire but will happily play a pointless tournament that takes place in pre-season, hate him.

Well they're rubbish at football.
Thank God British players wont have to learn playing against them..
What could we possibly learn?

Well for starters I was born in Cardiff so I support Cardiff. The decision to place them in the English league tier system was taken a long time before I was born and my birth had little to no effect on this and this doesn't affect my Welshness one bit. Secondly, if the Welsh league was at a similar standard to the SPL I would be all for moving into the Welsh league but unfortunately this isn't the case.

I am genuinely pleased for the Welsh players especially the Jacks because I think they are young, hungry, technically sound and could be very very good in the future. But they still went against the advice of the FAW and made a selfish decision PLACING THE FUTURE OF AN INDEPENDENT WELSH NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM IN DOUBT <------------ This is the most important part of the whole scenario - nothing else. Team GB is simply not worth it when put into perspective.

Not once have I dictated anything to anyone, If they want to play, and I accept that some feel more British than I do then they are welcome to play but IF it comes down to having a permanent Team GB which would ruin Welsh football (which thanks to the dinosaurs at the FAW is pretty bad anyway) or having a Welsh national team then I know which I would choose. Let me set a couple of misconceptions straight.

1. I don't like the way the FAW is run.
2. I do believe the advice the FAW gave with regards Team GB is solid and should have been listened to.
3. I don't believe including Welsh, Scottish and NI players was necessary considering the opposition from the respective FA's
4. I don't think the Olympic football tournament is worth threatening our independence over.
5. I am pleased and suprised for the players who have been included and they deserve it.
6. I am Welsh not British but I can accept that others don't feel that way.

If you have any proof that the majority of welshmen aren't against it I would like to see it...?
