Same team plus more quality playing in the same stadium watched by the same fans (apart from a few maybe) playing under the same name Cardiff City with the nickname the Bluebirds managed by the same promising manager. What part of this makes it a franchise?

I doubt very much whether the fortunes of Cardiif City will make or break VT.
I reckon youre at odds with the whole new world of football and the money now involved. Nothing wrong with your principles but the world keeps turning and alas it wont stop so we move on without you.

....... That's correct hardly any questions were answered , there is no one leading the club, The club is being run over the phone. Apparently Wayne Nash has been looking at premiership training facilities, what qualifies him to do that. He runs the security . AW cannot answer direct questions. FFS they are bumbling buffoons. Get someone to run the club, they couldn't even sort carling cup tickets. Clowns told Vince not to tell anyone , why tell him then.bluebird1977 wrote:Shocking at best tonight was whiteley fav sayings was " i can not answer that" "i dont know" "shrugs shoulders" Are these people really employed by the club what a joke to think whats going on down there while are owners are 6000miles away

carlccfc wrote:Annis attended tonight's meeting and took notes for the forum members to be abreast of what was said. I am writing this report on behalf of Annis as I was not present at the meeting.
When Annis arrived he said the club had 5 security staff on duty and barriers placed at the entrance, 5 people were refused entry into the meeting as their names were not on the invited list. There were 28 names on the list at reception.
The meeting started with Alan Whiteley, Julian Jenkins, Wayne Nash, Barrie McAuliffe and Malky Mackay in attendance along with 2 security staff.
The meeting started at 18.10.
Alan Whiteley stated that there were 30 fans in attendance at the meeting.
Alan told the group that in 2007 the club was £24million in debt when Peter Ridsdale came in he "robbed Peter to pay Paul" (that throw's up some jokes I am sure)
Alan continued by 2010 the club was literally bust and it was a very difficult time, days before the Blackpool Play Off Final the Malaysians invested £6million and today that investment stands at just under £41million. Vincent Tan's investment is incurring 7% interest but so far VT has taken nothing out of the club. PMG, Ranson and Langston are debts that need addressing. Vincent Tan wants Premier League football at the end of this season and he wants to be in the top 2.
Without Vincent Tan's money and if the club were to settle the historical debt then the club would have to charge the 22,000 fans who attend our games on average £75 per match ticket but the season ticket holder would have to pay £60 per ticket on top of their season ticket if we wanted to continue as we are in the Championship.
If the club wanted more investment then we would have to look further afield, the only person with money on the table and offering it is Vincent Tan, the club has no other choice - it weren't a difficult decision to make to accept VT's offer of investment.
Vincent Tan wants to bring stability to the club and is offering funds for team strengthening as well.
Alan Whiteley was criticised by the group for not consulting the fans on the change of colour and badge, Alan disagreed with the criticism.
The group then stated that fans wanted the right to discuss the changes but Alan said the decision was taken for the right reasons.
Fans - We are a laughing stock, again Alan disagreed that we are.
The group then asked about the business plan and sould it be explianed to them , Alan said it was purely Vincent Tan's risk and not the club's.
Alan was asked if he had seen the business plan and again he replied it was VT's risk.
The fans asked if the debt would continue to rise.
Alan Whiteley categorically said that the debt will only be solved if Langston is settled. Alan also said it was never red or dead.
Fans - Why red ?
AW - VT believes it will attract Asian market.
Fans - How much will it attract ?
AW - It is only VT's business plan, there is no risk to the club but only VT can answer the question.
Fans - Was VT questioned about the colour change?
AW - The changes are VT's conditions not mine, I am only chief executive. If any of you have £60million to put in then great. VT believes red is a symbolic colour.
Fan - Will we continue to increase debt ?
AW - Spoke again about the need to settle Langston so the debt to equity swap can happen. Alan said there has been 3 offers made to Langston, £8 million within 30 days, £10 million over the space of one year or £13 million involving £8 million over a year and £5 million upon promotion to the Premier League.
Alan stated that the club could continue to run up debts until 2016 when the Langston debt, in the club's view, would have to be paid.
Fan - What would have happened if we did not have VT's money ?
AW- League 1 or League 2 if we were living within our means.
Fan - Why was no other fans allowed into the meeting tonight ?
AW - this is a private meeting and emails we sent to those who requested their seaosn ticket money back and those who responded and confirmed they could attend were placed as an invitee on the list. Alan confirmed that 89 supporters had requested their season ticket money back.
Malky Mackay then spoke to the group.
MM- I need every fan and everyone of you in the room to get behind my team, our team.
Fan - Would you be saying the same to Celtic fans ?
MM - I understand traditions and I know it is emotional.
Glenn Waithe asked MM - So would you tell Celtic fans to accept the change ?
MM - You know the answer.
Fan - What about your budget, are you happy with it ?
MM - I am satisfied with the budget and I'll spend every single penny of it, I had money last season, I bid £2million for Matt Phillips, I bid for Sordell and Noone in January as well but clubs wouldn't sell to us, not many clubs are successful in January it is a difficult month to buy players.
Malky did say that he felt Reading and West Ham did well in January.
Malky then continued to say to the group to support the team, get behind his team, with out VT this club would be in the 4th division, Malky knows that in the short term the debt will increase.
When asked about Bellamy, Malky said he would not comment as at this time Craig is a Liverpool player.
Fan - If the whole stadium chanted Bluebirds Malky how would you feel?
MM- Then I know you are getting behind the team.
Fan - Do you feel under pressure because of the budget ?
MM - I was under pressure last season and got us to the play offs, this season I am going for top 2 and promotion.
Someone in the room asked again about Celtic and how their fans would react?
MM - I understand the passion and you all know the answer.
Fan - But with the war chest you got you must feel more pressure ?
MM - I have not got a war chest, I have got a budget. Did you know that on average a manager lasts 1 year and 4 months in their job in the Championship, I guess I got 4 months left he said laughing. I take players with good backgrounds and a lot of work is put in to finding out about their backgrounds, last season was mostly free transfers, this year I can bring players in of better quality and promise those players that we are going places and there will be more quality players coming in as we got the money.
Fan - Have you been asked to bring in Malaysian players ?
MM - TG and VT have only ever asked me to train some Malaysian players, they have never asked if they will go in the team, it is just training for the players.
Fan - Do you need the £10million training ground ?
MM - Yes, the Vale has a lovely hotel and facilities but only one training pitch, that is not enough for what we need, so yes I need the new training ground.
Annis - was you asked to attend tonight's meeting ?
MM - I came of my own accord because i dont want to lose one fan.
Fan - This must be distracting for you and your plans ?
MM - major distraction would be selling players like Whittingham, this is not a distraction
Fan - Will we steam roll this division this season ?
MM - No team ever steam rolls this division.
Fan - What about Newcastle?
MM - Newcastle were able to keep hold of their PL players when they were relegated so a big difference.
The group made Malky aware that they were not against him or the team.
Malky thanked the group for coming and he said he appreciated them and the passion they have for the club.
Malky left the room to an applause.
Fan - Why did VT change his mind after saying we would stay Blue.
AW - Said he couldn't answer, only VT could.
Julian Jenkins said that no-one knew what would happen if VT withdrew his money.
Fan - Red or Blue -We were blackmailed.
AW - Not blackmailed it was a condition.
Some of the group then said they wanted their money back and Alan Whiteley said the club will let them know of their decision within 10 days.
Fan - When did you know about the re-brand ?
AW - Early April is when we first told.
Fan - Because fi the red, shirt sales will be down.
AW - Agreed in the short term that was probable.
Fan - What details do we have about future revenue coming in from Asia.
AW - There is no detail, it is one man's vision, VT's vision. He has got hundreds of retail outlets in Asia and he knows how to market.
Fan - you do know that fans are falling out and family members are falling out ?
AW - It is divisive and emotional, we are aware.
JJ - We should share VT's vision.
When asked about keeping the current badge Alan Whiteley said he went to VT and said the fans are not happy at all with the new badge and VT said it was too late but Alan said he did get VT to agree to give the fans input into next years design of a new badge.
A few fans started to leave the meeting and Annis said TLG was questioning AW on the promise of the £9million of shares to be converted that never happened when Annis' pen run out![]()
Annis had heard enough at this point and left the meeting.
Annis tells me that he is not happy about the change to red and will always want to stay in blue, he has no respect for VT for changing our colour and badge but he respects Alan, Julian, Wayne, Barrie and Malky because at the end of the day they did not have to meet the group but they chose to.
Also Annis said he is glad that the supporters who went tonight were given the opportunity to speak their minds and put across their feelings.
As I was not at the meeting and I have had a conversation over the phone with Annis I apologise in advance if any of this has been misquoted and I get brought to task over it.

If I were Mr Tan I'd be asking Alan Whitely and Co a question or two about why they aren't selling the plan more positively and don't have a bit more confidence.
Anyway, the plan is the plan and there it is. And with it the money. For some of you who may never have read it,it might be worth going back and reading DT's stement on the official site regarding club finance, rebranding and the future particularly in view of the new fair play rules. It's quite clear, very logical and explains many things.
Please tell me when over the last 40 years (if ever)we've been making bids for players like Phillips. £2m?! - no wonder Holloway was so chippy, he was jealous, and perhaps we were close. When did we last take a star in the making like Mutch from a club like Brum City at an alleged (all in or not)£2.5m? And this time with backing and not thin air.Sordell?Pretty damn close.
There are more players coming in to add to a great squad and we're going for promotion. What a positive story whether we do it or not. If we're turning down a £6M bid for Whits (may be a bollocks post)what a story.
I don't particularly want the red or the badge, but the badge can change with supporter input next year and will be improved(I know it won't take much).I never wear colours personally and will always shade to blue but whatever happens I will support the team and our excellent manager 100%. Those of you who are thinking about doing something different ought to have a long hard think.
p.s. we are in or about to hit a worldwide recession and money is tight and will get tighter. Entering this with a backer like Mr Tan is not a bad idea.If my recollection of club history is correct after finishing 2nd in Div1 to Huddrsfield (1925?) and then winning the cup in 1927 along came the 1929 crash, long recession and crowds down from 20,000 to 2000. We didn't get back to the 1st Division until 1959/60? When we missed out in 1970 (20,000 crowds) we went on a slump from Div2(old Championship) down to Divs3/4 and the 2000 crowds again. Alan Whitely has tonight confirmed we were effectively bust 2 yeras ago and were saved by the Malaysian investment. Let's not f**k up again boys.
