Bloody hell what a place. Me & my chums from uni were in there one afternoon after we'd finished our buttered scones with clotted cream.

Anyway we were about 8 handed sitting by the open log fire when in walks in 8 ruffians from the local state college (filth) you could tell these were bottom of the rung as they were all wearing training shoes & one had an ear ring.

I sat minding my own business when one of them called me a 'pretentious b*stard' me? Pretentious? I nearly spat my latte all over the place. I wasn't having that so I stood up & said 'listen here laddy boy don't come around these here parts & start abusing the local patrons or I'll give you a bloody good talking to'

He didn't like that. He then put on a snarling face & said you ponse I'm gonna cut ya. I was obviously shocked by this so pulled out my riding whip & laid down the law to him & said 'right sonny jim enough's enough you will leave this establishment & never come back or I'll.... I'll... I'll get my father to bloody well sue you how about that?'

With that we made our excuses & got into daddys Range Rover & headed back to the stately home.

Very close scrape & iarning you once & for all stay away from the Masons Arms in Kensington its a bloody dive!

Surely was'nt worse than the bloody good 'rogering' you had in Public school Stan!!!!!!!!!!

The Cambrian in the mid 80's - top of Caroline St - now called Kitty Flynns. Went in there to watch a Wales international (against Poland I think). First problem was the telly had had a brick through it the night before. Too interesting to leave tho'. Full of prostitutes who kept asking me and my mate for "10p for the juke box". One had a railway line tatooed up the inside of her leg with a sign saying "Its up here".A very strange guy sitting on a table at the end of the bar wearing a bandana and staring a hole in his pint. Suddenly got locked in by the landlord as the prostitutes piled out into Caroline St. for a punch up with a rival gang from the Custom House. Weren't allowed out to see the action but watched the black maria men pile the ones lying in blood on the pavement get flung into the wagon. Much more interesting than the match.

Can't remember what it was called, but it was near St. Patricks ground in Dublin about 13 years ago on a pre-season tour. There were kids in the doorway in their vests and pants telling us they were going to shoot us. We went in and the locals looked like the cast of Wrong Turn. We didn't stay long.....
