I've been on planes since the age of 4 and have roughly been on a plan 30-40times. I was scared the first few times but you my advice would be just sit back, relax and hope you don't crash. :D :ayatollah:

I remember when I was around 20 flying back from faro into Cardiff and there was a strange burning smell onboard, all of a sudden the pilot landed in double quick time, the Stewards etc were all still standing and the fire bridgage were alongside us as we touched down.

And coming back from Mexico in the tail end of a hurricane for an hour, scary as f**k.

The best thing to do is to relax have a drink and take some chloroform, that should do the trick, oh and a push chair so they can wheel you off.

Being scared of being up in the air, is silly imo.

It's the ground that's the painful bit...

I wouldn't imagine its painful. Wouldn't the plane blow up upon impact?

Seriously, going away with my friends in 3 weeks and I am petrified of flying, when we all went away last year I was shaking and nearly in tears, know it sounds stupid but still. Even the flight attendents where asking me if I was alright haha.

Anyone have any tips? apart from bringing a parachute or anything? :ayatollah:

Just don't think of this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6wck_M5uGw :ayatollah:

Hi mate,

The virgin flying course is good,It's called flying without fear, it's about 200 and you get taught the ins and outs of the air craft, and every single fear big and small. It's run by actual serving commercial pilots and there are about 10 tables of 10 of you that get taught how to not only cope with your fears, but actually lose them.

Google it. BA run course too.

Unless you can get on the course before you go you'd probably have to wait until you come back from holiday but if it helps there is a book and CD called flying without fear. I think there is an App for your phone too.

Fears are learned as we go through life, we are not born with these fears. This course will re-educate you. Seriously. It will work. However in the meantime the book and cd should help. If you pm me I will send you the cd if you like. Download it to your iPod or whatever you use and it will help. Because of 9/11 I was a very nervous flyer, since I took the course 5 years ago,
I have been all over the world.....without fear.
