From my knowledge he's being scouted by big clubs, a loan would more a realistic option althought not probabale.

We're a big club ;)

They're just different options from foreign leagues.

Tbh don't see any harm in signing Big Gwyn Davies and chucking him up-front as a target man. He'd tear this league apart!

Lovendkrands and Carew would be good signings and quality at this level I think and both on free transfers, not prolific goal scorers but would work well with kenny miller or someone else..

Owen has already said he won't drop divisions, and there have been some mental names thrown about this thread!

Klasnic is out of contract afaik and he's 32, would be a great goal scorer at this level,
James McFadden is an excellent player, but he's 29 and still might make a lower PL team,
I still think Danny Murphy has something to offer, despite his age
Keith Andrews has just done really well at the Euros
Peter Lövenkrands is a top striker and would score goals in the championship no problem,
I still rate Fuller as a PL striker, so to get him would be fantastic,
Dave Jones did really well for Wolves and is available,
I think Alan Smith would be great for a season if he were to go back up front, he has been linked to lower clubs though,
Björn Helge Riise never got a chance at fulham, but he must have some quality about him,
Danny Shittu has always been a centre back I liked,
Joe Mattock is a great LB and he's young
Tom Soares is a good midfielder, but would he keep McPhail, Whitts and Aaron out of the squad? maybe not
and Nigel Reo-Coker is another one.

All perceived to be available from what I understand, and I would take any of them.

But if it were possible, Billy Sharp, Charlie Austin, Ross Wallace, Matt Phillips, Sean Scannell, Nathaniel Clyne, Willy Zaha and Jimmy Bullard would all add something positive!

There's your shortlist Malky!! :D
