Will the supporters club shop still sell blue though?
Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:34 pm
If they weren't real fans they wouldn't have bought a season ticket in the first place. I would say they care strongly about our tradition and history and that's why they're walking away. I'm sure it's a difficult decision and no ones taken it lightly

Some just for carling cup tickets and now an easy chance for a refund without breaking the terms of the zebra agreement and not getting a bad credit rating by cancelling the DD

My mate is looking for a refund on 4 season tickets he has for him and his kids, only problem is he's working in China, and before you all start slaging him off he has been working there for over 2yrs years and has still kept his season ticket going even though he only manages to get to half a dozen game a season.

I've got it in my mind, that I cannot watch the team playing in Red, but it's not just all this crap with the rebrand, I've been disillusioned with it all for a while.
With all the bubble trips, hassle from Police/Stewards at home and away games, the hassle of going to away game for a Cardiff fan should put you off football for life....meeting in services to get a ticket, what the f**k is that all about....the move to the new Stadium with a lack of atmosphere, its lost its cutting edge, the atmosphere at Ninian Park will never be replaced by the new place....inflated prices on tickets/beer inside grounds....its a chore to go to the CCS on times, plus I hate the modern day footballer, and yes, I might sound a right misery, but loads feel the same as me.

The only fan I know who has claimed he is not going next season is TLG. I don't think he has asked for a refund but has put his sT up for sale. Still the implication is the same. So out of all these that have made their intentions clear the only one I know is a real fan.
Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:47 pm
I will not renew.i am real fan. Grew up at NP since 1966.i am areal fan because I can't accept what these people are doing to my club.i see no valid logic to all this. This destruction, assassination of 104 years of history and culture.change and progress yes but do not destroy.,hence I am a real fan.

TLG as made a stand a valid one in my opinion and is not the only one

I think the atmosphere will be even worse this season playing home games Red ,i think the fans will find hard to get motivated unless we are playing some excptioal football on the pitch.

If someone has aked for a refund that is up to them, it doesn't make them anyless of a fan ..

It's quite simple. If you don't support the club anyone then you're not a fan. The reasons may be sound to the individual, but cardiif city fc continues and only those who attend matches can be classed as real fans

Its a difficult thing he does. If things stay the way they are then yes I feel he will stay away.

Stays the same as in the kit colour I guess?
I don't believe it myself.

Fans should stick with their club regardless of what owners want or do.

So in answer to your question, I suppose the one's asking for refunds are resigning their right to be a fan.
They are leaving the club?

So if the owners wanted to relocate to Lancaster, everyone should just go along with it?
Wed Jun 13, 2012 7:11 pm
My answer to this question is no they are not plastic chances are they have done this in protest. I am not happy with the colour change and what's been happening and the ones that has may have done this in anger however sane can be said fir those who embraced the red straight off the bat really but Cardiff city FC is like a religion to be a bluebird is the equivalent if the term Christian or whatever religion you are. I really can't imagine my life without Cardiff city FC in it in some capacity so I'll won't be getting a refund because when it's all said and done I suppose I'm gonna have to accept the fact that we have idiots in our board and idiots for owners. It's such a Shane really I'm glad the bluebird will stay. We will never die we will keep that bluebird flying high blooooooooooobirds

also let's be honest Cardiff city are the greatest football club to ever walk the planet in my heart

I wont go as far as saying all are not real fans but i feel they are jumping the gun here.
If they changed the name cardiff city then fair enough but a change of kit colour and badge change i personally feel they are over reacting. I'd say give the owners a season or two chance and see where their plan gets us in terms of investment and how their plan of selling cardiff city to asia.

Yes of course they are real fans, everyone reacts differently to change and this has been emphasised on here more than anywhere because we all care so much. To some tradition is everything, to others the future is everything.
History would suggest that to the majority, the future is more important than tradition and personally I am very much in that camp. Some things just have to change to flourish and even to survive in certain circumstances. Of course everyone would prefer to stay blue, some of course more so than others, but for me the club I love now has an opportunity to get rid of substantial debts and prosper like I could never have imagined.
I can't emphasise enough how significant a player VT is in the business world and if playing in red with a dragon on our badge is a vital part of his business plan then let's just give him the opportunity to prove it. If he fails which I very much doubt he will then how hard will it be to go back to blue at the end of the day

I've asked for a refund after 24 yrs as a City fan,a season ticket holder for most of that time. Gutted. I have asked for a refund for my families 3 season tickets with a very heavy heart. I've written on here before that we all have a line in the sand and City wearing red shirts at home is mine. I think what Tan has done at our club is little short of vandalism. I'm genuinely sickened by it.I do hope that my break from the club is short lived and as soon as this rebranding shit is kicked into touch,I'll be back.
Seeing City get relegated is a terrible feeling but this is many times worse. I feel like I've lost my club.

I would say they are real fans, but their grief is more extreme than others.
People will always react in different ways but we are all real fans.
Some fans will embrace change and will see all the positives about it (id say these are a minority and an extreme view on one end)
Some fans will accept change very quickly or reluctantly and will reside to just getting on with supporting the club (id say these are the silent supporters and a large minority)
Some fans will voice their opinions about their anger of the change but accept that they cant do much about it so get on with it (id say these are the majority of fans)
Some fans will take their anger and opinion one step further and start protests and write letters to the club I would include Carl and Annis in this group (hope I dont offend either of you), also they will not go along with the rebranding but accept the love for the club is stronger than that so will continue to support the club (id say this is a larger minority)
Then you have the very extreme right view of fans who will feel ultimately betrayed and will feel so disgusted with the rebranding they will never support the club again and will disassociate themselves from the club altogether (id say these are a minority and another extreme view on one end)
So to make it linear you have:
embrace change-------accept change-------anger/no action-------anger/with action-------reject change at all cost
The majority of fans will be in the middle
The one thing to remember is that wherever you lie on this line you are a REAL supporter because you have been affected by the changes in the club

i havent had a season ticket for a couple of years (its hard being in london with a young family) but i've been going down there for 25 years give or take
i will not set foot in that ground to see city run out in a red shirt, the colours mean the world to me
my boy is 2 in august and one of the things i was most looking forward to in life was taking him down there one day and him becoming a city fan like his dad, i cant do that now and it breaks my heart

People can be real fans in many different ways. Non-season ticket holders can be just as much a fan as a season ticket holder, but I fail to see how reversing your status from season ticket holder to non-season ticket holder is demonstrating how 'real' a fan you are. To me, the real fans are the ones who are not happy with the situation, but give their support unconditionally to their club. In just the same way as some of us did through the dark days of the 80's and 90's...
I have a couple of questions....how many of us started supporting Cardiff because they wore blue shirts at home? How many of us started to support Cardiff because they had a bluebird on their badge or were nicknamed The Bluebirds? Not many I bet.....so why stop giving your support because these things have changed or are under threat? My missus is a brunette now, but she's got ginger pubes and always will have. She'll always be Ginger Minge to me regardless of the colour of the hair on her head!

Deano 1 -

Man after my own heart. Can't beat a redhead. Or Ginger Minge, as you put it.

But changing from blue to red is still not on.

That is really sad to hear and these Malaysians have divided Cardiff fans and turned fan against fan. This hurts and even more when u know VT has no heart or love for our club, I honestly believe TG has but he has no say, compared to VT.
