CARDIFF CITY ALTERNATIVE BADGE DESIGN RESULT

I'm all in favour of a badge compromise and like the few that have been mentioned, but part of the tackiness of the badge the Malaysians have given us is that stupid motto 'Fire and Passion'!

For f**k sake, this is embarrassing, that should be the first thing to go if any compromise is reached....then we change the colour back to blue

cleaned it all up so dont look like a sewn on badge anymore.. thanks again for all you kind comments

Is that a hidden meaning that the red dragon is burning the bluebird? The proposed new one has similarities with the jacks new badge I reckon.

I really rate this design, brilliant. i like to see the bluebird like a phoenix going into the flames, only to rise again.

For me the dragon and the bluebird are working together.. hopefully this will happen and city will fight harder than they ever done before..

I did work in Graphic Design doing packaging designs, posters, vinyl graphics and other stuff. I had to stop nearly 5 years ago when my wife had 2 spinal operations.. been a very long road back for her and so ive been her carer.. the wife was pretty much back on her feet til 2 months ago when we were in a taxi and another car smashed into the side of the taxi at the junction at the bottom of our street.. So my wife has been put back a bit now with her back. I do hope to get back into design soon though.

I feel so strongly about a change in badge design, I wrote a letter to the club.

Dear Cardiff City FC,

Id like to cover a small subject which has been playing on my mind as of late. Its concerning the new crest design. As you may or may not know, a lot of fans been calling for a compromise, with certain polls being run with fans coming up with their own designs. I am an avid follower of this football club and regularly log on to the message boards to keep up to date with the clubs happenings.

So I have noticed that the call for a compromise is quite a hot topic among the clubs following. A gentleman by the name of Karl Payne has come up with a design which I have attached to this letter. This design beautifully combines all the elements we are looking for, Dragon, Bluebird, colour scheme, motto and the date of CCFC's establishment, whilst being ''up-to-date'' and very fresh looking. This seems to be a big hit among supporters with many complementing it and stating they would ''wear it with pride''.

I just hope the fans opinion over this matter may be listened to. I truly believe you could change the opinions of certain fans who opposed the changes just by considering this compromise.

The winnning badge looks great, but is more blue than red which is something the Malaysians will not entertain!

The more I see this badge, the more I like it, I would be very happy if this became our new logo

WOW!! thank you very much Lamboy88. thats amazing. Dont know what else to say as im shocked someone did that for me.
I hope now after everyones support that cardif city do look at it and make the compromise that it needs or atleast dont use that sheild badge that they came up with. thanks again Lamboy88

haha naa...but cant agree more. i am completely opposed to "that new thing" as it doesnt represent cardiff city imo. Karl's design is a real compromise, something even us traditionalist could accept. would still prefer the old bluebirds crest, but if Karl's design gets the nod, I can live with it. the bluebird is in the centre of attention, with a bigger dragon looking over it. btw i prefer the 3rd crest with the spikes at the back.
