It always makes me cringe, especially when it's XXXXXL and accompanied by a massive spare-tyre.

With a man half their ages name on the back.

or worse still their own name

nothing wrong with a plain replica shirt. Names are a little childish.

literally only believed by elitists who "go the match" that it is unacceptable. Pathetic.

It is cringeworthy when you're abroad, and you see some "propah geezah" with an XXXXL England shirt with 'Stevo' on the back though.

Yeah I conceded names are tacky on Propah Nawty Danny Dire types

nothing wrong with a normal fitting shirt however.

You should leave them well alone when you hit 30 in my opinion. I'd cringe if my Dad had a city shirt, no elitism involved. (Just shame  )

Its those who scorn and sneer at fans wearing them that annoy me. Obviously if it doesn't uhh... fit your style its a valid reason ;)

FFS mun we had a WHITE away shirt last season, Yes WHITE, and people bought that and wore that. Say no more. Nobody got abused then did they?? All this negativity is just out of order, as I siad in an earlier post, Just Get On With IT!!!!

I have my fair share of city shirts, but if you ever consider tucking it in (under your beer belly) then I suggest you leave it on the shelf

I'll buy both and wear both, as I always do.

Football is a lot deeper than a shirt to me.

It's not going to stop people giving them dodgy looks.

I think everyone should boycott the red shirt but that's just my opinion.

Merlin wrote:Hopefully - they won't get any grief at the stadium or anywhere in-fact, from their own fans! I think if that shit happens then these abusive supporters of the club should be banned permanently!

We will no doubt get a new following as we do every season. Only now, they will stand out like a sore thumb instead of blending in with everyone else.

I have seen people tweeting already that they WILL be buying the red shirt because they don't care what their home team plays in, they are there to support the club! and if anyone starts giving them grief over their new shirt or because they presume them to be a "PRO-RED" as some people are calling them already on this forum, then they will get more than they bargain for!

Personally - I don't care what Cardiff fans wear to a football match - they are our clubs shirt and are fans of the same team - they can buy what they want!

I certainly won't be buying a red shirt because I am in the category that only accepts this re-branding issue for the good of the club and investment. Even my young lad (who is clearly not clued up on all this comotion) fancies a red shirt! So I have to consider buying him one......

Always a blue-bird though, me!
Will continue to sing the same songs, Damn I might even get my Ninian Park centenary shirt out just to make a point. But we have to move forward as a club now, and accept everything that has happened. Red Blue Yellow White Black - We're still all singing from the same song sheet no matter how you look at it.

Just leave the fans be - and forward your anger to whom it may concern!

Me ,my son and daughter like the new tops. F**k what others think..

All shirts sold Red or Blue are supporters supporting there club which is still called Cardiff City FC, anyone who gives abuse in any form needs to get a grip and grow up.

I saw a fella today wearing a red City top from the 2001/02 season, i didn't think it was a problem.

What makes me cringe is when grown men wear "casual" clothing only on match days like it's some fashion parade.

Hilarious/embarassing.

Some right bollocks spouted here to be fair. People can wear what they want end of. I will be buying a red shirt and will wear it and I don't give a f**k what I look like when wearing it :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: Fans who buy a "Red Home Shirt"

Quite sad that people are under pressure from buying a top of the club they support.

Re: Fans who buy a "Red Home Shirt"

Wed Jun 06, 2012 10:39 pm

I certainly won't be buying a red top but I won't condemn those that do. All Cardiff City FC fans at the end of the day. Anyone that does show aggro towards red top wearing fans should really be ashamed of themselves.

I have more respect for fans who wear the blue shirt next season.

Cardiff is BLUE! :ayatollah:

but that had our crest on it, not that sh1te we got now...

wont even buy the blue shirt as long as we have "that thing"...

altho I never wear shirts watching the City, I always bought at least one shirt for my collection. sometimes even home and away. will end this now, until we have a decent badge again, that represents CCFC.

I remember a time when I felt the same way, when I thought men in sports tops looked like fools. Then I turned 30 and I really started to realize that I don't give a rip to what other people expect me to wear. Don't like fasion police.
