Nuclearblue, its done get over it, I'm sorry but everything I have read on here today has your negative thoughts on it.

we will all miss the blue, ive been a city fan over 20 years but times change and if we come out of this £70million lighter then you have to move on.

How quickly they forget. The kit and badge are a joke but will be in keeping with the new plastic fans so it may be a match made in heaven.

How dare you call me a plastic, 11 years a city season ticket holder I beg your pardon.

Any fan who calls any fan a plastic, soul seller, sell out is a disgrace as far as I'm concerned.

But calling them 'Cock' is ok?

DWQPR wrote:Guys, I will say, I am hurting for you. Over the last couple of years I have been a frequent visitor to this splendid, passionate and definitely well informed site and appreciated the camaraderie along with the support most gave during our own turbulent time with the Faurlingate affair.

Just read the news this morning on BBC and to be frank it is only what I expected, we had the same with Briatore, he wanted everyone to back him or he would threaten to take his investment away and let the club die, and god knows how many times we were told that he saved us from bankruptcy. But this is what super rich owners can be like, if they don't get their way they threaten to throw their toys out of the pram. And your Malaysians are no different. One word can describe them and that is BULLIES. Sadly most will fall for their tactics but the fact is that you can make a stand. Stop buying the season tickets, don't buy the shirts, protest. 25,000 Cardiff City supporters will have more clout than a bunch of Malaysians who will try and sell your club in the Malaysian markets (still mainly supporting Liverpool, ManUre, Chel*** (blue kit, doesn't do them any harm), Arsenal etc.

Cardiff City will always be Cardiff City, of they think that the club can compete with the likes of the above then they really are deluded, at best what would beckon is a team in the mid to lower half of the PL, and believe me it will cost them much more than £1million a month to cover losses then.

For me, today the real Cardiff City has died and has been replaced by an imposter. God rest the soul of Cardiff City.

I've got to be honest.....you always come over as a thoroughly decent guy. Intelligent and well informed..you seem genuinely interested in events here and probably would show the same interest in similar events at other clubs too. But don't be too concerned about us. I've been supporting the City for 43 years and although I would much rather stay in blue with the same badge, personally I'm looking forward to the future if they invest as much as they are saying. It will certainly give us a very exciting period to look forward to and my gut feeling is that in a couple of years we will be back in our traditional blue and white kit. But thanks for your concern anyway. See you in the Prem soon. :ayatollah:

Few below the belt comments to the OP in all honesty. I don't know the fella but he seems a genuine football fan first & foremost so all the sniping is a bit shitty.

Anyway. I'm as shocked as most about what I've seen today, thought this was all squashed a few weeks ago? Bottom line is it hurts to see your club in a different colour with a different badge but as others have mentioned its not those things that make the club, its YOU to a man that make Cardiff City, your songs, the people, the pubs you frequent, the atmosphere you create, the way you get behind your lads that's what makes a club to me.

Personally I love QPR playing in hoops & if they were to change I'd be gutted but you know what it would soon pass as all I look forward to on match day is seeing the boys, having a few light ales, a bit of atmosphere & a great laugh, the football is usually the bit that fcuks our day up! :D

Your owners have made an extremely brave statement today so as far as I'm concerned the pressure is on them not you, not Malky, not the team, them the owners have created a rod for they're own back so go with the flow keep sing Bluebirds & everything else will fall into place

Easier said than done I guess but just my opinion. You make the club not a colour of a jersey.

Best of luck :ayatollah:

So was it RIP Leeds United when Don Revie changed their shirt to white. I think we all know the answer to that. They are still a much bigger club than most of the teams in the Premier League will ever be.

Nothing would give me greater pleasure than seeing Cardiff City play the R's at the CCS in the PL, in BLUE! Those who have been opposed to my views, well fair enough, hope your dreams come true, but trust me this is the thin edge of the wedge, first the kit and the badge, then the stadium turns red, (during the extension works) and then the name change, people have mentioned the word franchise and frankly this is what your owners will look upon your club as this and nothing more. £100 million may wipe out the debt, but what will the cost of the new training facilities be or the stadium extension, or with the current £1million a month losses, which will no doubt increase if a better player is to be attracted it won't take too long for this money to be spunked. I look upon this as a last throw of the dice by the owners. These people do not tend to have patience as one of their virtues, it seems to be a trait with many rich people. They think they can throw money around and it becomes a quick fix. Briatore, when he came to Rangers was not talking about a four year plan to get us in the PL, if you look back the four year plan was to get us in the Champions League. And then he realised that the cost would have been too prohibitive and he looked to sell. Success in football is for the elite the rest is just the cannon fodder that makes up the league. Very, very few clubs in the PL make a profit and in doing so risk relegation. Your owners will be losing more than £1million per month if they achieve PL status and try and build a club for top eight status. The only chance that they would be happy with this is if the ego takes over.

its not just the colour of a jersey, but the fact they have completely taken our identity with the clubcrest. we are seen as customers, not supporters. CCFC is nothing more than a product.

i could live with the red home blue away, but not with that crest and the fact they are changing everything for some bucks in Asia.

many of my mates here in germany sent me messages today, they all believe we are passionate enough to strongly oppose the rebranding. sadly we arent anymore.

passion made me a cardiff city fan and a part of the Bluebirds family. At this second, I dont know what makes me more sad: the fact we have lost a vital part of our identity or the fact that the majority of our fans lost their passion for the club, the club we all loved...

I'm ok with the deal but you can't accuse me of losing my passion. Far from it. It would be easy to walk away now citing the rebranding as an excuse but my passion is for the club. If that means we play in polka dots so be it. The underlying strength is that we are Cardiff City. That's the brand, the history, the fans. Get some perspective and you can only speak for yourself, not me or anyone else.

so where is your passion? only that the team carries the CCFC as a name? to me its everything, the whole package. name, crest, colour, ground etc... and thats gone, imo. granted they are still CCFC, thats the last thing to change and it will.

My passion is behind the team, supporting them whatever gets thrown at us. A siege mentality. Passion isn't throwing your toys out of the pram. So what's gone? Name - no still Cardiff City. Ground - still at the CCS. Still wearing blue away and the badge at least has a bluebird. Not ideal but there are worst things going on in the world.

And why work yourself up about things that will never happen, we will always be CCFC. If they want to change it then worry about it. Until then go with the flow as it wouldn't surprise me if we are back as we were in a few years

When will fans accept that a football club Is a business, maybe the odd accepting like Manchester City or Cheksea, simply because there owners treat there clubs like trophies.

Accept ours is different as we are going to be against very strict financial rules and at least we are planning ahead.

name - still CCFC (will surely change sooner or later)
crest - gone
colours - gone (watch this space, we wont have blue as away colour after the following season)
ground - ninian park, gone

the team changes every year, so do managers and chairmen. but the identity and soul of a club has to be there, and that hurt me and I believe many like me: these things are gone, for a few new customers in the far east...

Personally the move from Ninian was much harder than this. That was the spiritual home, where history was made. But it had to be done as many other clubs have done. Did they sell their souls rtc etc? The kit is superficial by comparison, a colour and a badge that itself had taken various guises over the years. I believe in the future it will be restored as now together with the blue.

Why will the name CCFC change? I can't see it and so won't give it a second thought. Worry about it if it ever gets proposed. If you spend time worrying about things that MAY happen you won't get out of bed in the morning,

Ride the storm fella, keep the faith and channel your passion into the team that still rely in your support.

Always pop in now and again mate some good lads on here.

Dunno about splash the cash but he will most certainly strengthen. We have signed a great midfielder in Samba Diakite for €4m watch out for him he's class, also rumoured to be in for Craig Bellamy, Christopher Samba & either Rob Green or Ben Foster.

Whatever happens I think Sparky will elevate us to mid table outfit next season.

Still rooting for you boys, as I've said all along the Premiership needs a club like Cardiff but this rebranding business could have a detremental effect on the team next season I believe. Hopefully you get off to a good start and the Malaysians supply proper funds for MM to make a good go of it (as they should have done last January imo)

Years ago we didn't owe £70m. No one wants red but surely you reluctantly agree with it in order to get the investment? No one has sold out. It had to be done in the opinion of most.

Thing is Annis as you well know the game has changed & its all about the wonga now.

Stadiums, selling they're names, different kits every season, Sky etc but what your owners have done is the ultimate, stopping only short of changing the name. I do believe your fans will stay loyal & fully expect to see 20,000+ crowds at the CCS again next season as we all know you can't just walk away.

Its not a working mans game anymore unfortunately. They call it progression :(
