Re: ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW FROM CLUB

Tue Jun 05, 2012 1:54 pm

My opinion is "that I just can't turn my back on the players I've supported for the past years, just because THEY are forced to wear a red strip!"

Saturday afternoons is MY football day, my day of freedom, socialism & a laugh with friends, having a pint & doing what I enjoy most!

Football to me is more than just a colour, it's a one off experience in my life that fortunately happens more than once a week.

I can't say I'd be 100% happy about any colour or badge change, but nothing can change history, and nothing's gonna stop my day or two of freedom each week.

Unlike others I can perfectly see your viewpoint and why you feel like that even though I am on the otherside of the argument.

That said my gut feeling is that the 'Red' thing was only a small part of the plans VT had for Cardiff City and he can easily afford to ditch it providing the rest of his business plan (i.e. betting licence in Malaysia/FELDA land aquisitions through youth acadamy work) come shining through.

Dont think your going to be missed as we need to get shot as soon as possible these supposedly loyal fans who keep harping on about how they will never step into the Stadium again if Cardiff change the colour of their strip,we dont need these spectators ( cant even bring myself to call them fans anymore ) and anyways we are going to need the as much space in the Stadium as we can muster to accomadate the thousands of extra supporters who will come in their droves to watch CARDIFF achieve their dream of attaining Premier fooball i got a funny feeling though like a few other disillusioned fans who dont understand the dynamics of running a football club these days you will skulk back when it suits you probably around the time we are vying for the Premiership or playing in the Premiership which will give yourself and all the other sycophants a whole salad season to get over your Narcissism. :D

Like others T-G-I-ROBINFRIDAY I think you are being a bit harsh on BW&Y as he is entitled to his opinion. That said you are absolutely correct in saying that success will cancel out any walk away supporters.

For my part I have lost count of how many times I have vowed never to buy a season ticket again after some abject performance (espeically if it was rainning and cold) only to sulk back bang on time for the next game.

Trouble is Tony if you did not want to renew cos its cold or wet then next time it may be sunny and dry. If you did not want to renew because of a poor performance then they may play better next time.If we play in red with a dragon logo then I think that this may be permanent. :ayatollah:

Bit harsh T-G-I

Blue, White & Yellow IS a fan and therefore ENTITLED to his view.
A lot of fans remember the 2500 crowds and no-one wanting to be seen dead following cardiff - we were a minority - tagged by the media as hooligans in a counry dominated by egg media.
We stuck together then and we are trying to stick together now mate.

We've seen us grow again and the play-off to the championship was massive.
we've already lost some good guys as we have dealt with:-
- moving from ninian
- st davids cross - came in and went
- no standing at the CCS, and mates that are divided by a seating plan
- stewards/cameras - shite treatment for away games
- threats of administration and going bust

I hope we dont lose one fan over this

You are my Cardiff, my only Cardiff :ayatollah:

You need to understand the sentence regarding the dynamic of running a football club THESE days and if the minority keep harping on about the colour of the shirt when the real problem will be our demise through administration and then Black.Blue ,Pink or Orange wont make a slight bit of difference the only concern is about self preservation ,this harks to the very well known small religious sect refusing blood when a blood transfer is the only solution therein these so called fans make the Clubs stability terminal.

Stop scaremongering about administration ffs. Its not happening so we don't need to sell our souls just yet. :ayatollah:

Good point '64 although my post was more about showing that we can all be fickle including me ;)

Since the start I have been a pro-red because I see it as being the only way to save our club from bankruptcy and deliver us a bright new future.

However, as the change from Blue to Red draws nearer I'm starting to have a wobble if I'm perfectly honest.

Cardiff will never ever go bankrupt coz atleast Sam and Langston will never ever allow that to happen .

Martyn we have other debts apart from Langston. Remember mate we have to pay bills every month and at present they are £1m higher than our income. If VT stopped paying the shortfall we would quickly enter Admin and possibly become bankrupt without any help from Sam Hammam/Langston.

Not a true supporter then. It's the club we support through good times and almost all of my City supporting life the bad times. It's not the colour of the shirt we support. Fans like you will not be missed.

Why is he not a true supporter then? I share a different opinion to Rhys but that does not give me.the right to question his support as he has his own opinion on his own club. It's idiots like you that don't help tbh.

I'm not more or less than a fan than you are. I just have a different opinion than you like Iv said to other posters. Don't shoot me down over it.

I'm not going if we play in red  Get real mate more important things in life to worry about :ayatollah: Wait for the news before you reply is my advice to you ;)

Dont agree with BlueWhite&Yellow but this would be a sad place to post if we all agreed about everything and the occasional dissenters were pilloried and driven away.
As long as opposing views are treated with respect that works for me....................

I will be there next season coz Im Welsh and City are my local team who played in blue over 35 years ago when I first went , unfortunately my team will now play in red for the forseeable future in the hope of attracting several million NEW Asian fans who dont already support the following teams :

Arsenal
Chelsea
Liverpool
Man Utd
Man City
Celtic
Rangers
Real
Barca

best of luck winning them over from the Championship Mr Tan !! :ayatollah: :old: :ayatollah:

IMO the red shirt has little to do with current shirt sales. It's about the future selling on of CCFC. I think they have a target and the red thing has value to them. There is no room for sentiment, we must evolve.

Would you carry on supporting Cardiff City if the Malaysian bloke decided he wanted to move the club to Dublin and promise to invest $250 million cash on players but changed the kit to green and white hoops? ;-)

Or what if they buttered your arse and called you daisy?
Completely irrelevant as its never going to happen and I don't see the point of extrapolating current events into a load of fanciful 'what ifs'

Say whatever the f,uck you want mate. I am 100% with you, we are being held to ransom by the Malaysians, yes they are going to invest but at what cost, they want to take away our history and identity. We may aswell all go and support Man City as they have the most money.

Anyone willing to say that I am not a true fan because of this opinion is likely to get a smack in the chops.

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW FROM CLUB

Seems they are those out there that are forgetting that this is about the survival and flourishing of Cardiff City FC for future generations and are more interested in feeling self pity and sorry for themselves. It's not like they are going to build a road through your house or force you to join the army for a year.

Is this just an excuse some are looking for to stop supporting the club as its more plausible and a form of martyrdom as opposed to somply admitting they have had enough for other reasons?

what a pathetic statement. Sorry if im not up to your idealistic calibre of fan but to some of us, identity is as important as anythng else and we just couldnt countenenace sitting in a red stadium shouting for a team in red.

that dont make us right, wrong better or worse. For some (many?) of us, city will always be blue and if they change colour they aint the city. If you feel differently carry on fella enjoy your footy but dont make out your better than anyone else

Sorry but turning your back on your club for the colour of a shirt is equally pathetic. You'll be in the same stadium next to the same people watching the same of hopefully better players. The clubs history remains in tact as it can't be changed. We ate Cardiff City.
