At nearly 51 I assume that I am too old to go and fight in wars but I would join the Home Guard.

But I would sign up in heartbeat if the world faced a danger like Nazi Germany again.

I would want to go that one step further and become what was known as Churchills secret army. Guys whos' objectives was to go in hiding after the invasion then goon the prowl to take out some of the invaders. The first job would be to take out the Chief of Police as he was the only guy who would know who you are. After that you start taking out top brass from the invading force and women who are seen with the enemy. Right up my street that.

The only draw back is that you are only expected to survive for a week and if or when you get caught you are expected to shoot yourself. However what a week it would be.

Done my near 13 years in the Army, I can still shoot, throw grenades and fire anti-tank rockets (If somebody will give me a supply ) and I still know how to hide in bushes and undergrowth etc, but apart from playing squash, my running days are behind me!
