In reply........people lay their lives down for something that they can relate to and believe in and defend. That is freedom, their comrades country and family and the system that they want to preserve. If you ask most servicemen they will tell you that the system in is a constitutional monarchy, not a bunch of "in it for me" transient politicians. Strange? yes I agree, but its just the way itv is....I can't explain it, I can't justify it and I can't understand it.......its tradition, the regimental system and the pride that comes from being a british soldier. We don't have the best kit, we don't have the best pay, we don't have the best terms of service, but we have an overwhelming believe that you will not f**k with us!

As a retired Welsh Gunner who did 9 Op Banner tours (NI), Falklands, Iraq and finished off in Afghan I am pissed off with the moderators on this site failing to deal with some of the low life shits who appear to be kids who insult my nation (Wales) Comrades(some of them fallen) and my Queen (a non political figurehead who we were proud to serve!) Do you really think my comrades laid down their lives for Blair, Brown, Thatcher, Cameron? Get f*cking real. We did it for our Queen, Wales and you.....you bigoted low life piece of crap!

Serving your country and its people is a noble and commendable cause that must be appreciated. However, out of interest, would you sacrifice your life for the Queen? That's something that I don't quite understand.

Because like it or not, she's our head of state. A soldier HAS to swear an oath to protect her.

I understand that, but he said "we did it for our Queen". Seems strange to me considering she's nothing more than, as he said himself, a figurehead. Personally I would not risk my life for an archaic figurehead.

I would and as I previously stated, once my local bloody Sargent finds my medical, I'll hopefully get in the army.

Wales can flourish under Britain, we must be proud to be Welsh but equally proud to be British. The English have nothing to do with it, they just have the honour to share this great Island with us.

To be honest I understand his point its a bit hypocritical if you want independence but happy to play in the English Football League. Its your own choice though
