You want people to work for free then ? Would you work for free I doubt it. You want the best you have to pay for it.

Strange how people don't like the truth when its stated yet wonder why politicans at any level don't tell the truth when asked questions!!!! Hypocrite!!!

No. I said that it was sickening that you openly admit to being a Councillor simply for financial gain.

Are you suggesting that no Nurses want to help patients? That no Police Officers want to serve communities? That no teachers want to help young people?
Obviously they need to earn money, however many opt for a particular career choice for more honourable reasons. Councillors and politicians should want to benefit their local area and the people who they represent. For you to openly confess that your sole interest was financial is a disgrace to those who care for the people they deal with on a daIly basis.
Living in a dream world. Police Officers are earning 45k per year yet people don't care about what they can earn. Yeah alright then.
Anyway as i said it was always money first for me, you don't like it then that's tough I guess. You don't like the truth then don't expect others to lie if asked the same question

If a society in which the majority of Doctors, Nurses, Police Officers, Teachers etc would like to benefit and assist those that they serve is a 'dream world' then so be it; I live in a dream world. However I do not think that it is unrealistic to suggest that those working in such careers choose to for reasons other than money. I know many Teachers who have always wanted to help children for example, I know Police Officers who joined to serve their local community, and I'm sure there are medical professionals who want to help others.
However this idea seems alien to you. Somebody choosing a career for philanthropic and caring reasons? Gosh, impossible! Of course, I'm not disputing certain careers attract more individuals because of money. That's a given. However one must acknowledge that not everyone is as selfish and out-of touch as you are. Vets care for animals, Nurses care for patients, Emergency services care for communities, and you, Mr Brown, care only for yourself.

The outgoing of my wages was £52,000 over 4 years. However I project managed a new shopping centre, new care home and ensured that thousands of people will get refunded rebates for overcharging totalling £11.1 million. So I would think my services were good value for money. Also bear in mind that the overcharging issue went on since the 1980's meaning that many more community minded people before me had the chance to speak out on the issue but low and behold they kept their mouth shut. hmmmmmmm I wonder how really community minded they really were.?
I get shot down for speaking the truth yet the reality is that there are many more like me but keep it to themselves.

Does this seriously warrant a response? "majority of them are socialists they smell and have no dress sense."
Ignoring such nonsense, anything that you have done is redundant because you openly admit you only did it for the money. That immediately repeals any supposedly charitable acts or beneficial deeds, there are people who sincerely want to benefit and help their communities. Evidently, you are not one of them.
I have "shot you down" because I find your ignorance annoying. You claim that everyone only works for financial gain, however that isn't true as I have proved. You may do, however you're a right-wing imbecile.

I can assure you many people who become teachers are because they have pointless degrees after University and see teaching as the last type of career which is worthwhile.
I do care for myself and always have. However by caring for myself I also ensure that I do a good job whenever asked and the progress which the ward done under my watch is evidence of that and also the rebates which people received were evidence of that.
Tue May 29, 2012 6:37 pm
I will state it again then 'The majority of Community minded people are Socialists that smell and have no dress sense'. FACT.
EVERYONE works for financial gain and whether you want to believe that or not is your issue not mine. You even mentioned Doctors well why is there is shortage of Doctors in Wales..? Reason is because in England they pay them more!!!! Welcome to the real world people work to earn money to improve their lifestyles before anything else.

Oh really? Pointless degrees like English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Geography and so on? Obviously some teachers had higher ambitions, however many people (like myself and many teachers that I know) would happily work in education from the start.
Selfishness is not a good quality and you have thoroughly failed in justifying it.

You mentioned many types of careers including dentists, doctors, nurses and teachers etc so ask yourself why do many want to go into the private sector then ? Nothing to do with selfishness then ?
Tue May 29, 2012 6:53 pm
Seems to me that you can't answer my question. Many teachers, dentists, doctors, nurses etc want to go into the private world because they are better off financially that way. Which backs up my point that people always go where the money is

That makes no sense. Not everyone can work in their dream job earning dream money, however people can want to work in a career for reasons other than finances.
