No he was never good for Cardiff - he saw our club as a stepping stone, he was un preparared and his heart was never in it .... Malky wanted our club, no matter if it's not the size of an English club called Chelsea - I'd rather true manager heart and sole with fans to match, who rather say if only this and only that - weak individuals with no backbone... and at least we have a backbone at long last...

He did well at West Brom but they were a premiership set up in all but name, Would his heart have really been it, rebuilding a club with little money available and 11 players needed. I believe that Houghton and Dimatteo would have found the situation here to daunting eventually, where as Malky had come from a similar set up at Watford

Horses for courses as they say

For me I am glad we have Malky Mackay.

What Malky achieved last season was way and beyond my expectations and he delivered a couple of moments that will live with me forever, namely the Carling Cup Final goals, he also demands 100% from each of his players and that got us to the play offs when many of us felt we had blown it, I recall some fans saying that they had run out of steam and had given up on the season, thankfully the players and manager never.

In Malky Mackay we have seen a manager who will use youth if need be and will only bring in players who can be an asset for us, both ability wise and financially.

Hopefully everything off the field is sorted this week and Malky can carry on with his plans for next season.

We have already seen he is trying, he nearly got Vardy and is close to completing the deal for Joe Lewis.

Carlos,

Never said I was not happy with Malky, just saying what our previous Chief Executive did when it came to Di Matteo etc.

I know you're happy with Malky but watch how many try and say differently because you posted about the treatment of Di Matteo by Gethin, you know how people twist things :ayatollah:

Before you know it we'll be accused of being anti-Malky.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE/PREMIERSHIP AND FACUP. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I think it was more a case of Cardiff not being right for De Matteo in much the same was as the club wasn't right for Chris Houghton.

De Matteo has one of the best squads in Europe available to him at Chelsea but this time last year we needed someone capable of building a squad and I'm not sure he or Chris Houghton could have done a better job than Malkay Mackay.

We will never know if De Matteo could have done better than MM but finishing in the playoffs and a Carling Cup final from where we were 12 months ago makes the guy a complete legend.

I hope our fans don't expect to much this season as MM has another difficult job recruiting players whilst trying to offload players like Parkin and Keinan who are both unlikely to feature but costing a lot in terms of wages.

I'm sure we will be stronger this season but so will a lot of other clubs and it is going to be another huge challenge but I believe MM is up for the challenge.

De Matteo a good manager no doubt about it just not the right manager for us.

I would like to congratulate Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and especially John Terry but for releasing the handbrake they placed on Chelski during the AVB reign.

Di Mateo merely rode the wave of anti football and good fortune, as he was one of the "old" boys.

If Abramovic want his club back, he better get rid of those three (like the original plan), otherwise Terry will be playing in his 40's as he picks the team.

Cheers for that :ayatollah: Only last night I was trying to think of any ex-Cardiff City players who may have a Champions League winners medal.

Ross Turnbull totally passed me by.

If you can get a team to beat Barcelona and Bayern Munich and over turn a 3-1 loss and win the champions league it dosent matter what the football is like as long as they win. :ayatollah:

Shame some of our fans don't think that. We've had a tremendous season, yet some fans don't want to renew their season tickets for next season because they're "not entertained". Yet if we played more open, leaked goals and got relegated, these same fans would use the "wanting to see successful football" argument. You just can't please some people!

It's a good achievement agreed. But then he had a ready made squad of internationals and quality players.
Unless the Malaysians had given him hundreds of millions like abramovich did to the previous managers to give them the squad they have now, he would have done no better than MM IMHO on the same budget.

I heard that Jenkins was sacked because Tan felt that he had an "unlucky aura" about him.

This is a fact guys and this is what our board base their decisions on
