Vardy had the option of getting probable regular games with us or Peterborough, but has instead joined Leicester where he will be nothing more than a squad player at best. His first big move and it seems he's opted to go for the money ahead of his development. Definitely not the type of player I want here and there's no guarantee he will be able to make the step up from the Conference to the Championship anyway.

"Development?" This guy is 25 years old. Not sure he's going to get much better than he is right now.

As a 25 year old playing for Stevenage in the Conference, would Steve Morison have been able to make the jump up from the Conference straight to the Premiership, without joining Millwall in League 1 inbetween, and then get further experience with Millwall in the Championship to further "develop" his game?

Who knows and who cares? Bottom line is that it's a big gamble and I reckon we can spend that sort of money better elsewhere. Even if he's awesome he chose to go elsewhere so what's the point of worrying about it

That's exactly my point. It's a huge step up and if Vardy really wanted to show he could make the step up, he would have chosen ourselves or Peterborough so he could get more games and have a better crack at Championship level. Instead he has chosen to go to Leicester for the money, so I am pleased we have missed out on him.
